Very welcoming hosts. Lots of space in well appointed and maintained individual cottages. Ours had a private garden. Lots of nice personal touches which made us feel special. Excellent breakfasts. We would recommend highly.
Highway noise at night but that's life.
Excellent helpful staff with great suggestions for eating out and things to do Cottage had wonderful olde world charm in a peaceful setting close to town
From arrival we made to feel welcome. Our host were very knowledgeable of where to eat in Port Fairy, and made a range of suggestions from cheap to a little more expensive. Breakfast was absolutely awesome, and the pot of tea was just right.
I am finding it hard to think of anything. Apart from the weather which was overcast. But I guess even our hosts could not have done much about that.
Very relaxing. Set amidst a beautiful garden and great location.
Doug was most hospital meals excellent, loved his garden and vegetables and enjoyed the AlPaca's in the paddocks .
No Foxtel limited cooking facilities
Very welcoming and helpful owners. A gorgeous cottage with wonderful amenities and services. The tea room is lovely with delicious food. Would have loved to have stayed longer and will definitely stay here if we return to port fairy in the future!
The warm welcome you receive when you arrive is lovely and some local information is very useful. The information book within the room is very helpful to allow you to plan your days and evenings. The cottages are perfectly situated for privacy and the facilities are nicely laid out within each area and I loved having the gas fire in the lounge area, the bathroom is great in size and the spa bath is a definate luxury. The cottage was clean and crisp, with attention to many of the small details some places forget. The cat, dog, chickens and alpacas add a homely touch to the place. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to try the tearooms but that was our fault as they are closed Monday and Tuesday :-( I would have liked a litte hoptplate or combo oven but that is a personal preference not a fault with the cottages. Nicely located within a short walk or drive from the centre, we would definately recommend a stay here.
Self-contained cottage with atmosphere' friendly owners.
A minor point but the cafe that is part of the operation does not open for breakfast until 10am
Very friendly welcome Complimentary port and chocolates! Cosy atmosphere All facilities we needed and more Pretty cottage
Great rooms, nice location, port and chocolates was a nice touch
Didn't actually see any staff, but was likely due to us staying mid week and arriving late in the afternoon. Some road noise from nearby highway but not too bad.
Rustic setting, historical and most comfortable
Nothing comes to mind
The kindness of the hosts and all the attention to details put in the setup of the appartment.
We didn't have the chance to stay long enough to enjoy the place fully !
Ambience was wonderful.
Even though advertised as self contained there was not hotplates only a microwave.
Double Bed 1,30 m!!!! Clonmara was closed, untidy place, Not Customer orientated
High quality in every respect, including the great lengths they went to to get jewelry to us we had left behind.
The privacy of our cottage and it's garden. The coffee plunger and ground coffee.
Upon our arrival Doug was very welcoming and friendly. We were upgraded and offered free wifi and a late checkout to suit my business meeting the following day! We had an awesome stay and look forward to returning soon! Can't not mention the rasta dog, coolest little guy about!
There was nothing to not like!
Port Fairy is a very nice place for a weekend away.
The mattress was very uncomfortable and we felt the place was overpriced compared to other places.
Lovely self contained cottage
Cottage style accommodation and lovely english garden setting, with views of paddocks and alpacas from studio cottage verandah.
Although the cottages are self-contained, the kitchen facilities in the cottages are limited to a microwave, so guests cannot self cater.
We stayed in Cherry Plum Cottage. Very private and cosy place. Had everything we needed. Having a drink and a book in the garden at the end of the day was very relaxed.
It's a bit a walk (or short drive..) to the centre. But Port Fairy has lovely places to eat. Unfortunately the tea room was closed on Monday and Tuesday, the days we were in Port Fairy.
The extra touches like sweets, port, Chocs plenty of towels etc and well heated and comfortable bed which makes you feel at home
Spacious room, cozy fireplace, lovely gardens and eclectic tearoom. Friendly hosts gave lots of helpful advice.
We liked it all!
A lovely, quiet country cottage setting, just right for a relaxing getaway. Apartments 3 & 4 were joined but there was no noise travel & they were still private. The cooked breakfast in the tearoom courtyard was oh so yummy, we had it both days, and didn't need lunch. Good coffee too!
The fact we were only there 2 nights; could have stayed 2 weeks! The off street car park could have been bigger. A bit squeezy with all big cars, but hey I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel to find something wrong!
liked the garden and the decore of the lodging. The proximatey to the main shopping area. the outdoor eating area at the Clonmara cottages. the Privacy of the lodgings. The friendly staff. The good hearty breakfast. We will go there again and so will our friends who found the whole experience lovely.
The bed. Too small for tall man. the lack of window covering in the shower and toilet that looked out over the car parking area.
