Love nature so enjoyed visiting MacKenzie Falls which has paths to viewing points for people of all abilities; even has a “resident” emu!
Plenty of places for hiking.
Halls Gap Zoo is a fabulous place to visit with so many birds and animals to see and interact with.
Good choice of places to eat - we particularly thought The Kookaburra Hotel and the Halls Gap Hotel Bistro were particularly good with great food, great service, great atmosphere and great staff. Avoid Halls Gap Tavern at all costs!
Plenty of accommodation options in most price ranges
(best to avoid Kookaburra Lodge Motel if you want value for money and want even the bare minimum of housekeeping!)
Basic shopping centre … but they DO have great ice cream and tasty fish and chips available there and a big playground for families with younger children.
Beware the kangaroos as you drive around, they are everywhere at any given time of the day.
Beautiful place to relax and enjoy.

Absolutely stunning, it had been years since i was there last and once again the friendliness of all the staff at the shops and attractions around could not be faulted.
Let alone the food options in and around Halls Gap - Barneys Barn - Pomonel Estate , Indian , boutique beers and ciders, there are so many , you will never go hungry.
The local Zoo is a highlight- go the extra mile and book a animal experience - Red Pandas are adorable.
Halls Gap is a gem of Victoria and is well worth the visit. There is something there for everyone, you can be as active or as relaxed as you prefer.

The Grampians National Park is excellent for walking and hiking at any time of the year. Halls Gap has a variety of accommodation types from camping to higher end. There are various places to eat, from usual so-so pub food to good quality food including vegan. We are at the Kookaburra which had excellent food (including vegetarian) served with delicious vegetables rather than chips and The Spirit of Punjabi which always serves excellent food (by robot now!). It also has a range of delicious vegan dishes. If you are into art and creativity check out Grampians Textures and Grampians Brushes - both are packed full of excellent workshops.

There are enough shops and bars for a short stay, and the location is excellent for exploring the trails in the area.
The tourist information centre was helpful but wasn't quite up to speed with some trail closures which appear.tto have been made some time ago.
Overall Halls Gap is a great place to stay for an adventure break.

I love the Grampians.
I love the Grampians. Lots of lovely walks and scenery and Halls Gap has great restaurants. Unfortunately the cultural centre is closed and sone of the galleries in the areas were not open . But the wineries are worth a visit and certainly the Hall’s Gap pub. Excellent chef with great food and views .

Halls Gap Zoo was excellent - casual and all the keepers were very friendly, informative and helpful.
The many local sights were amazing.
Beware! Most businesses close early - not easy to find food after 6 pm!
The boutique shopping area, although small, was excellent.
This is hidden jem in Grampians national park in halls Gap. The owners are so welcoming and cool. We stayed for 3 nights and all the 3 nights they provided us free wood for the wood fire. Every little aspect of ours they look after.
The wild life was always on the property. Wild Emus, Deer and kangaroos always at the back yard of the property.
Your bed room is facing the jungle and wild life was just at your door step. So beautiful so calming as you awake in the morning for the beautiful noices of wild Emus and kangaroos.
Excellent location - a nice walk or 3 min drive from the town centre- but far enough away from the holiday houses to feel private and secluded. Beautiful views from all windows, great deck for stargazing, kangaroos in the front yard, white cockatoos on the front porch and emus in the back yard. Great layout, excellent heating/cooling and water pressure and temperature. The internet in Halls Gap is very hit and miss, so plan to go old school if you are staying anywhere in Halls Gap to avoid frustration.
Gorgeous spacious cottage with everything you need for a great family holiday. We ate both nights at the shared bbq space with a wonderful view over a field with kangaroos and during our morning walks emu’s were walking around. Its a short drive from halls gap where hikes into the Grampians start. We’d definitely come again.
Excellent location. Right in the heart of Halls Gap. Restaurants and cafes within 1min walk from the hotel. Spacious 2-bedroom unit. Tea and instant coffee and biscuits provided, along with biscuits. Small packets of milk in the fridge. Beds have electric blankets. Kangaroos in the spacious grounds of the hotel.
Such a great place to stay for a romantic getaway! Such friendly service!!! Location is great, located off the main road of Halls Gap.
The Chatlets are very cute, clean, warm and include all the amenities you need to cook and sustain yourself. The spa baths are so relaxing.
Would highly recommend!
Excellent location close to Halls Gap center (walking distance) but not close to the main road - very quiet location.
Plenty of wildlife visiting the property, such as kookaburras, kangaroos, and white parrots.
The kitchen was well-equipped with all appliances and utensils.
Quiet location and wonderful apartments with space between the cabins, fantastic gardens, great variety of birds around the building and the Kangaroos on the lawn were a treat, especially for the international guest next door.
Location was great, short stroll to shops and hotels for dinner. The pillows were absolutely perfect, unlike rocks in most accommodation! Three bedrooms and two bathrooms suited our family well. Fantastic stay, thank you 🙂
The location was out of town but you could walk to the Halls Gap Hotel.
Appears recently renovated but not quite finished?
The open fire has been replaced with a gas replica which warmed the unit quickly.
Quiet location short walk to eateries and hotels. Great views with added attraction of wildlife in the paddock at the rear of the property. Good. Air conditioner/heating options. Enjoyed the stay.
Loved it in halls gap. Cabins were great. Staff helpful. Cockatoos and kangaroos everywhere. Town was great with pubs and shops. Great walks all around. Couldn't be happier with this short stay.
This is the place to stay in Halls Gap. Scenic location. Jenny and Mark are exceptional. Their warm welcome, friendliness just add to the charm of this place. We will keep coming back for sure.
Great communication with owners- very attentive. Super location; house well equipped, especially the kitchen. Lots of windows and light. Cozy feel. Easy walk to town. Definitely recommend!
