Its location in respect of central Perth & easy access to railway station, value for money, general cleanliness, Internet access in foyer. I thought the buffet in Criterion Cafe @ breakfast-time on 14 Dec lacked variety & was not replenished very frequently. |

The fact that the room could be cleaned up to 11am giving me more time to relax. The staff were very accomodating if you wanted to make changes. Due to building operations it was rather noisy early in the morning and the basin tap could not shut therefore tripping continuously. |

The room was comfortable and I could get a lift to the floor. The staff were helpful and it was convenient to my bus and to the restaurant. The room was hot and the airconditioner noisy. |

My partner had a health issue whilst there and I found the reception staff very prompt in getting assistance for me from the ambulance. Their concern and follow up after the incident was to be commended. We found the hotel very central which is why I chose it and the accommodation of a good standard. Rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. I would be happy to recommend the hotel to anyone requiring a good standard accommodation at a sensible price. |

Convenience for the city. got very little sleep. very noisy guests nearby for several hours in the middle of the night, swearing, shouting, screaming, very frightening for a single lady traveller. |

Location in heart of CBD, close to rail and bus systems, the art-deco appearance to the building and oldy worldy feel to the building. The staff were very helpful indeed. Internet unreliable, surrounded on all sides by late night pubs and karaoke events. Major building works all around so cement & building lorries/trucks coming and going at all hours of the day and night. Hay Street (certainly during my stay) becomes a bit of a hang out for drunk & abusive individuals making for a very unwelcoming and intimidating atmosphere after dark. |

The relaxing atmosphere surrounding one of the oldest Hotels in Perth and the twenty-four hour service, especially for late evening arrivals like myself. There was always someone on the desk. I also liked being able to walk into my room anytime of the day with room key in my pocket. Unfortunately we didn't eat or dine in the hotel, so cannot comment on that point. Would recommend The Criterion. The TV reception could have been better compared to other Hotels we stayed in during our trip to the West. I wasn't very keen to have the patrons from the pub next door, The Oak and Ivy, out on the roadside loud and noisy, when coming back into The Criterion late in the evening. It didn't look good for The Criterion. |

I enjoyed the comfortable, quiet room and the friendliness of reception staff whenever I had a query. I particularly appreciated the free internet access as I was travelling on business and needed to keep in touch with my work-place. |

The place was close to shopping and transport. Good for short stay The toilet flush was not working properly. Hope they will get it repaired. We informed the management on the day we arrived. But it was not repaired properly. Hope they will attend to it as flushing the toilet was a problem |

The location is brilliant - it is in the centre of the city, only a couple of minutes walk from the Hay and Murray St malls. Also the free wireless internet available is nice, as is the discount to a nearby restaurant. Apparently the hotel is being upgraded (according to signs in the lift), but the room at present was old and dated, with very poor lighting. Bit noisy at night, but considering the location this is not that surprising. |

This was a flight recovery night before attending an appointment next day, then catching a bus south. The hotel is central, convenient for transport, friendly and comfortable. Not really. The hotel is a wee bit shabby and probably could do with an update, but that would probably catapault it into a different category and that would be a shame. It is nice to be able to stay in a comfortable hotel in the middle of Perth without paying ridiculous prices! The alternative seems to be Backpackers ... and I don't want to have to so that anymore. |
