The staff were very friendly and helpful. Amazing location- MONA ferry literally across the road; Salamanca across the small park; couple of blocks to main streets of city. Parts of the pub date back to very early colonial days.
No WiFi in my room despite several efforts to have it checked and corrected - perhaps the price of staying in an historic building?; very noisy from pub until 12
Within easy walking distance of harbour and Salamander district
Spoilt by extremely noisy music from a nearby bar which went on until 3.45am !
Proximity to water and Salamance Place , within walking distance to city centre
The meal we had was disappointing. Caution if staying on weekends, with noise levels from music below.
Fantastic location, walk to everything, Salamanca & restaurants a stone throw away. Staff very accommodating, big thanks to Robert for allowing us to use his car park! Bar & band was entertaining. Breakfast substantial. MUST do the ferry to Mona!
Parking was an issue, but soon rectified. Room was not like it looked on the net. It was at the rear and had no view - other than over an old dirty roof. Room was freshly painted, which was nice. I would request a room on the water view side.
Location good, breakfast OK.
Very noisy room at night - would not stay there again. Room was very dark, could not read a book without using a separate torch. Bathroom was very dark so it always needed a light turned on which resulted in an automatic exhaust fan coming on. The noise was so loud it drove you out very quickly. Bathroom shower head was so fine it would not concentrate enough water to wash yourself. Frustrating.
friendly, helpful staff; convenient parking; great location; good food;
somewhat noisy over the weekend; but that's life
The location was excellent, close to everything.
Rooms were a bit old, but are getting renovated.
Noise from bar on the first level was not the best
Friendly staff especially emily on reception, breakfast staff didnt seem real happy but they were very polite and efficent. Location was super, noise not to bad apart from sat night from surrounding clubs mainly people talking outside windows band in h0tel not really heard though.
Only people yelling etc outside window leaving surrounding clubs, mainly very late early sunday morning.
The location, the proximity to Hobart, the history of the area, the eateries.Overall a good place to stay and would go back
The bathroom needed some work on it,the windows needed a good clean
We enjoyed beautiful breakfasts and an outstanding evening meal with vouchers for free drinks. The location was fantastic and we were thrilled with the view over the port from our window and a short walk to explore the port and Salamanca.
The hotel is looking a little tired and could do with a make-over befitting it's historic and rustic features.l
Loved having the restaurant, entertainment and accommodation all in the one place.
Street noise in the early hours of the morning
Location most of all, but most of the staff were friendly and nice (except a grumpy head cleaner when we requested "5 more mins").
A little tired - could do with a good paint, and new carpets. No drawers at all for clothing, and not much hanging space.
The friendliness of the staff Laundry facilities available to guests. Size of the rooms. Central position.
The stairs to the top floor.
Room facilities a bit dated. Just need a refurbish.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and carried our bags to and from our room. The room was large and faced the river. Restaurant food of a high standard. Close to the ferry and other restaurants and hotels. The Salamanca Markets a few minutes walk away had an amazing array of goods.
Fabulous location.meal in dining room good, choice of wines excellent. Very helpful manager. Parking system over the road very practical for us.
Poor view out of our window. Would in future request a front room with a view. Room basic but liveable.
Noise from pub at night interfered with sleeping. Lounge not placed suitably for watching TV.
The position, the staff, the food,
shelf in bathroom,no end on the clothes rod.
Unbelievably noisy on Saturday night. rather tired hotel in need of refurbishment
The hotel is located on the waterfront across the lawn from where Salamanca market is held & also across from the MONA ferry.
If you can't sleep with the popular pub underneath you don't stay here. The beds are hard (for my liking) but everything was very clean.
Friendly Staff, location, view from room, breakfast included which was very nice.
The room was a little bit out dated
Ideal location for exploring central Hobart, the waterfront, Salamanca and Battery Point. Room spacious, ours had a waterfront view. Restaurant lively and food excellent quality.
Noisy location weekend night times. Ensuite very small for price and size of room.
Accomadtion food location and the staff very very helpful
Fantastic location. Close to the markets and waterfront with plenty of places to eat nearby. The breakfast included in the price was lovely, a real bonus.
Unfortunely Friday and Saturday nights were noisy as our room was at the front. Next time I would go without the view and ask for a room in the rear. Other nights very quiet.
