Daintree Wild Bed & Breakfast

Amazing experience! If you like animals than this is the place for you! (if not than you can spend your day sunbathing by the pool!) The room was really large (there were 5 of us in it and we didn't feel at all cramped). The room was clean and was cleaned every day. The bathroom was shared but was just outside the door. You could literally step out the back door and you were in the zoo. They have a great collection of animals and the best part is you can explore them at your leisure day and night. You can spend your day by the pool or laze around with the kangaroos. Its a great place for kids and very safe. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and they invited us to a private feeding of the crocodiles as well as various other interactions with the animals. The breakfast was very nice, the mango and orange juice from the garden was especially delicious. Staying here was the experience of a lifetime and i would highly recommend it.

Location is great for exploring the daintree, fab to come home to the animals - children bottle fed baby kangroos! The zoo owners are really friendly and helpful - they can book tours along the river for you, and help find places to eat etc. The food that we had there was great - be sure to advise by 4.30pm if you want to eat there in the evening. Romm was spacious, we had the Rosella family room. be aware that bathrooms are along the corridor outside, kind of motel-like, but this isn't a problem - it's only shared with a few rooms. Very quiet location.

The Mozzies! be aware that this area requires insect repellent all day! this isn't specific to the zoo though! the owners can help wiht insect repellent etc.

Owner/staff were very friendly and helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed time in zoo before it officially opened. No rush on check-out.

Loved the room, very clean. Amazing location from which to explore the Daintree and Cape Trib from. Wonderful to see the wildlife at the zoo. Very friendly hosts.

I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the food was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and clean and having full access to the zoo was beyond belief. It was also centrally located to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

The owners were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to personalise our experience, very helpful and knowledgeable about local information. Particularly impressed with attention to dietary needs (gluten free) they even bought some lollies he could eat and served them up for his dessert!

Room echoed a lot, otherwise all good

We liked everything about Daintree Wild. It is located a 10 minute drive from the Daintree River Ferry, so within easy reach of all parts of the World Heritage Daintree National Park. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, ever helpful and good humoured throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble for them. The decor and furnishings were terrific, so much beautiful wood and striking flower arrangements everywhere. The food and wine were excellent and reasonably priced and the dining room, whether streaming with sunshine at breakfast, or candlelit and atmospheric at dinner, was a delight to be in. Our balcony overlooked lush rainforest trees and we had a great modern wet-room. The accommodation is within the zoo itself and we were given unlimited access to an amazing range of Australian animals. Kangaroos are hopping around the lawns, emus stride up to say hallo. There are over 40 fresh and saltwater crocodiles and most amazing of all, 3 of the rare and bizarrely spectacular cassowaries, not to mention a huge variety of parrots, cockatoos, frog mouthed owls, kookaburras, snakes and lizards. It's just fascinating. I can't recommend it highly enough and all our fellow guests felt the same way. It is an amazing place to stay in.

We liked being able to see tame animals, as we came to and from room. We Liked being greeted by 'hellooo' 'Whats your name?' By the parrot as we came home at night. Because they had rooms to spare, we were upgraded from the room we had booked, to one with a fridge and bathroom, which overlooked the Zoo. At night you can hear the noises of the crickets/ frogs? Not sure which, but it was a nice noise.It was a bonus to have free Internet. Breakfast was simple, mango juice, toast, tea/coffee, cereal, bananas. Loved the tame kangaroos . A good place for a base to go to Cape Tribulation, Rainforest and close to ferry.

Didn't like having to pay( half price) to go into Zoo,to see what there was. When we actually had to pass the kangeroos to get to the pool from our room.( Only a small dislike)

We were upgraded to the more expensive room due to a problem with the one we booked. This room was nice and reasonable value. The owner was friendly.

On arrival the first thing we noticed was a lot of unlicenced vehicles in the carpark - about 20 in all. This made me feel uncomfortable and regretting the booking - if there was junk outside what would be inside? The room we booked was $120 and with shared facilities and was disappointing for the money. Lucky we got the upgrade. It is a long way to facilities such as restaurants, supermarket. Nothing to do besides the zoo.
