a little out of the way
Good quiet location with Bus stop right outside the street. Two minutes walk to groceries store.
No wifi connection??
The staff, though few in number, are quite dedicated, helpful, and responsive - the sort that genuinely enjoy hospitality, not just "oh, this is my job" sort of an approach. Very much appreciated.
Just a minor thing: there's no aircon - which isn't a problem most of the time, though when it hit 43 degrees it would have been very welcomed.
Always accommodating when we need a bed for a night in New Farm. xx
WOW its not 5 star in the building but its a great old Queenslander building which great character. What you get is 5 star service. So close to all transport, bus just outide and ferry 1 minute walk. Shops down the road. The ladies are great at just making you feel like relaxing and happy to just chat or advise on what to do and see. If i go back to QLD i know where i will be staying
to be honest i dont think their was anything i found negative.
Staff welcome and it's a quiet home
A bit far from the CBD, Internet is not working very well
The friendly helpful service wss awesome.
The bed was a little bit hard.
Nothing was too much trouble, rooms were very clean and comfortable - totally relaxing place 5 mins from city but feels like a world away!
Jacque and Nala are such lovely helpful and kind women! Loved their place, great location and a great experience made all the better by their help :)
Free wireless Good connection to public transports Very friendly staff Nice location
This is such a great little place to stay! The owners were ridiculously helpful and friendly and the rooms were cosy and comfortable. It was in the perfect location for us, as we had a wedding in the Powerhouse, but it was also 30 seconds from all the shops and cafes you could need.
Prime location. Comfey bed. Great staff.
Room was very clean, but smelled of BO upon first entering(it wasn't mine).
Managers were informative and provided clear written and verbal tourists information. They seem to really care that guests had a great time visiting Brisbane. Location, bus stop at door steps, ferry stop 10 min walk, eating places, 7-11, supermarket, banks, newsagent within 5 mins. Quiet, like living in a leafy suburb. Healthy; you can walk along the river bank to the CBD in under 60 mins and start your days visit from there.
One noisy couple who came in late and made just too much noise.
There´s a shopping centre just 2 min away that has everything you´d need and you can catch a ferry to other suburbs with 10min walk. Booked 3 three nights and ended up staying a week. My room was nice and clean and the bed excellent. With microwave, water heater and a fridge it was awesome. The owner is really friendly and helpful and I definitely recommend this place.
Poor wifi in my room but works well outside. The kitchen is just two cooking stoves but of course you can still cook with them.
Location is good. Water boiler, sink and microwave in room.
Blanket is not very clean. Towel stains everywhere. Room smells dingy. No heating or fan. No caretaker on site if arriving at night. If you take days to travel, ensure u make them communicate everything through email.
Water pipes burst
great location, nice helpful staff, good value
noisy needed earplugs, shared bathroom could have been cleaned more often
Price and location
Finish of renovations was poor
The location was great.
There was a massive mix up- and when I went to resolve the issue, the owner only cared that she hadnt been paid (when I thought she had). She spoke down to me like I was a theif and I have never had this kind of service any where before. I have stayed in many places before and have never seen that kind of hostility. From the look of it, she was going through cancer treatment or similar, and my sympathy was there, but that does not excuse bad behaviour. The fact they are a cash only business and I am STILL yet to recieve a reciept also makes me feel quite doubtful about the business being legitimate.
Great cheap and not far from city. Dont expect 5 star. But definetly a warm friendly enviroment with that qlder style charm
Very nice staff, helpful and caring - great neighbourhood with great espresso. So if you like walking and greenery despite being in the city, that's the place to go! Cultural venues (Powerhouse, ...) nearby!
Very friendly and helping people working there. Great location if you want a quiet community close to the city. Bus stops at the front entrance.
Walls are very thin and therefore it can be possible to hear people in the other rooms
Ellie's was an absolutely amazing place to stay. I was in town to conduct job interviews in quite a few suburbs and they pointed me in the right direction and always asked how I went. I was in a single room and it had a lovely little kitchenette and fan. There was also a door to the outside so that I didn't have to go through the hallway to get out of building. I would recommend this B&B to absolutely anyone staying in Brisbane. You really can't go wrong staying here.
While almost everything was amazing, I imagine that in summer it might be a bit hot as there was no AC in my room. While the fan was great for winter, I can't confirm what it is like in summer.
Lovely friendly owner and a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere in a beautiful spot close to parks and the main shopping strip of New Farm. You can take a lovely walk along the water or catch the free ferry nearby into town.
