Best Western Plus Garden City Hotel Canberra  

The hotel was clean and easy to find. Close to the airport. Good value for money

The hotel has undercover parking however nobody told us that, and there is no sign, so many people parked on the street.

We had a fantastic meal in the very friendly hotel restaurant. We will go back the next time we go to Canberra.

We were disappointed that when we called room service on the Sunday it was not answered on two occasions. We only needed some milk however it could have been an emergency and that is a real issue.

Having to ask two nights in a row for milk and coffee which was not left in our room when made up. The cost of your continental breakfast is far too expensive

The comfortable bed. The meals from the restaurant were very nice. Staff were very obliging and helpful.

As we went as a group, even though we were all booked in separately, they mucked up our booking and had us all in different rooms to what was on the system. When we checked out we were told we hadn't paid, when in actual fact we had. They had it there in front of them, but as I booked all the rooms for our friends they were thinking I hadn't paid even though they had paid me. That was a little confrontational and embarrassing. It was sorted out quickly, but the angst among our group was not pleasant to say the least.

I arrived at the hotel around 14:10 but the room was not ready and had to wait for another 20 minutes.

Everything was fine. Room was large enough with a queen bed which was comfortable and so were the masses of cushions (4!). Extra sofa and table. Great big LCD (Plasma?) TV screen with perfect reception. Mini safe & bathrobe + generous with hangers. Nicely stocked mini bar.

Fluorescent light in bathroom is too dark. Should have at least a 100W globe. Felt more like a 10W globe.

We loved the shower. It was the best we've ever had. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. The motion sensor lighting in the halls were a great idea...very eco-friendly and also it meant no bright light spilling under the door into your room at night. Free wi-fi was a great help and they stored our luggage after check-out at no charge. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We couldn't figure out how to set the alarm on the clock radio. The restaurant was also closed for dinner during Easter, however the chef and staff do deserve a break too. It wasn't a major issue though.

Room spacious and comfortable. No overpowering room deodorisers. Bath robes provided. Would have liked to stay a bit longer.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was perfect size for us and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant meals were delicious and worth every penny.The whole hotel was lovely. We would definitely stay here again!

Bar prices were high $6 for a beer! Staff charged my credit card twice but rang me and advised. Carpark a bit dark at night. Cleaners were a little slack: bed made but no sheet change, towels replaced daily despite us hanging them, mini bar was not replenished daily and floor was not vacuumed daily.

Perfectly adequate for low-cost business trip. Clean, well serviced, all required facilities.

Location is a bit 'on the highway'. Signs in bathroom explained eco-policy with regards to washing towels but still I was provided with new towels every day for 2 weeks! Also soap replaced after 1 use - very wasteful.
