The staff were very friendly and gave us an upgrade which was unexpected but greatfully accepted. The grounds and just picture perfect and the history is to be remembered.
Staff very friendly and quick to sort any omissions. Restaurant with excellent food and very good value. Lovely location in heritage gardens.
The hotel is about 3 minutes drive the main city centre and located on a former mental asylum site with old world charm.
The room was a bit cramped.
The rooms were small
great grounds comfortable room clean and quite
no restaurant breakfast very basic
Quiet, comfortable room
THE ROOM, STAFF & GROUNDS ARE ALL EXCELLENT AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. WE WILL BE BACK ..... AND BEECHWORTH, IT'S THE HOME OF BEECHWORTH HONEY!
The grounds are beautiful, rooms well appointed although I was under the impression there was Foxtel.
It was freezing outside, when you walked into the hotel foyer it was unexpectantly freezing also, no heating on! not cosy for such a shocking winters day. The ambiance of the place went straight out the window !
comfortable bed, friendly staff, beautiful grounds
No heating in building hallways which created cold draft in room. Shower room was very cold. Outside of building quite old and daggy looking.
wander the shops, market, honey shop and surrounding wineries, country out look from our room we felt very relaxed
the weather was very cold misty rain
Like everything. Room was a bit cold but staff were excellent supplying blankets and heater
heating in our room was put on before we arrived so it was nice and warm. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Couldn't completely close the door to the toilet room from the outside so door would creep open a little and all the warm air would escape into that room. Really didn't like the DVD player. After 30 minutes watching a movie with my son it starting freezing up, skipping parts of scenes and the audio was really hard to understand. We went to reception and got another DVD player and that did the same thing.
Friendly accomodating staff.
No electric blankets.
Loved location, food and wine.Nothing
The grounds were amazing! the air con was brilliant/...... so chilly!!
The view from our room (which we had to upgrade) was lovely thank you. Restaurant food very good re main course. Excellent wine list in the restaurant. It was delightfully quiet
No breakfast available No atmosphere, especially in bar and restaurant - and cold! Standard room I booked was a dreadful size for the price - very poor. So we paid extra to up-grage. The young receptionist was lovely but needs to learn to answer some questions instead of deferring to others eg can we move the couch in the bar?... Why was the empty mobile shelf thingy left sitting in the hallway for 3 days? (located just down from reception) Picture on website of gardens etc is misleading i.e. big white building implies that is your hotel...
Very friendly and more than helpful people, it is always lovely to be greeted with a smiling face. The serenity, quietness of the area. The food in the restaurant was delectable. Gorgeous time of year to visit, amazing colours of the leaves in the trees and on the grounds, beautiful surroundings and people. We definitely will come again. Thank you for your kind hospitality
The Garden Location
Perhaps - Still feeling their way as not be open for very long
Walking distance to town, lovely grounds.
- Room was not part of the old hospital building, as suggested by the pics. Instead, the room was in a newer conference centre. - Wifi did not work - Poor room soundproofing
The pictures on this website do not match the reality. The standard room is very small and was quite sterile (eg bare walls without art). Unfortunately, the outdoor pool was dirty, poorly maintained and was not open to be used (in April 2014). Likewise, the sauna was not able to be used either. Wifi was extremely patchy and not reliable at all. Bicycle rental rate was very expensive. The gardens need a lot of work. Staff were friendly but not particularly knowledgable. We upgraded to a suite, and felt happier with our decision. Overall, I have to say that it was a disappointing visit and I will not be staying here again.
The gardens and old buildings on the grounds. Serenity and location. The helpful friendly staff.
I didn't expect to be staying in the building which was previously a rehab. Their website is a bit misleading as it sounds like you're staying in the white grand old building which was formerly the mental hospital which would've been awesome! Also some printed out information on the old buildings situated around the grounds would've been useful.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good,
A room approx 3mx3m is ridiculous. Nowhere to place our baggage created more space problems. There was no information on what was available (which wasn't very much apparently) and several times when going to the front desk there was no-one about. To top it all off the car parking was quite a distance from the entrance to the hotel which isn't much help to someone with a mobility problem A Total disaster
Very friendly staff
Area around the pool was quite neglected, rooms are very basic
The grounds are pretty if somewhat eerie at night. The beds were comfortable. The staff were pleasant.
Rooms very cold on arrival. Hotel reception, corridors, bar all cold. No information offered on facilities - in room, bar, restaurant (which turned out to be closed), etc. Servicing of rooms poor. The kingsize bed room had a tiny shower with no heating. No electric blankets. Had to keep air conditioning heater on at night. In one room the phone was found on departure at the back of the wardrobe (this bore the number to use in an emergency). There did not 'appear' to be any staff around at night.
Staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient. Clean, modern rooms.
After a freezing day in the open country side we were really looking forward to a long hot shower. Unfortunately it seems the hot water had run out by the time we checked in (around 5pm) - with the hot tap on fully, the water was luke-warm at best, and even that started becoming cold after about 2 minutes.
