I stayed in a queen deluxe room. Many have commented on the small size of the rooms. For one person, the queen deluxe worked out very well and looked as it did in the web site photo. The bed was comfortable, and the room was immaculate. Yes, it was somewhat basic, but for AUD$130, it was excellent value. My window faced a wall, but that didn't bother me in the least. I was there to sleep, not to lounge around all day. I had no problem with water pressure in the shower and never heard anything from another room, but other rooms certainly could be different. The location was terrific. I can't speak for what the rooms would be like for more than one person, but for myself, I was more than satisfied. |

The Hotel George Williams met my basic needs sufficiently. I also found the staff to be friendly and efficient. I thought the bedroom was somewhat small |

I really liked the location of the stay because it was in walking distance to so many city spots. The welcome we received was excellent, warm and genuinely friendly, this combined with the look of the lobby gave great first impressions... until we went upstairs. The beds were very comfortable, great nights sleep! The internet pictures etc did not reflect truthfully the accomodation, the rooms seemed much nicer, on the website, let down in reality. I really felt the decor of the hotel rooms and walkways was outdated, old and smelled stale and old too, this was the biggest let down. Also the garage/parking was very small and somewhat scary to navigate. |

The city location and proximity to the river was great. We enjoyed the restaurant attached to the hotel. Our friends were amazed that, given how expensive Brisbane is, we were able to get hotel rooms for such a low price. The rooms are TINY. Other reviews have said things like, "The rooms might be on the small side," but we were absolutely shocked to open the doors of our rooms. (There were several in our party.) Since we were in Australia for several weeks, we had a good amount of luggage including golf clubs, and there is almost no storage space, even underbed storage. When we checked in, I was in a mobility scooter, unaware that there were disabled rooms on the ground floor. I am assuming that these rooms must have some additional space for wheelchairs and other mobility devices, but the desk clerk didn't suggest or offer one of them. Consequently, when my scooter was parked in our room, we couldn't even open the door all the way. |

Staff were helpful and pleasant, good position and most of all value for money. A nice breakfast was included in the rate. I did need to ask for a blanket as there was only one provided, but extra blankets were provided. |
