Location and area and parking!
Hot water very slow. Room very small
Small beds, very old fittings (not vintage) just old and tatty
Located in s a very nice neighborhood near MCG, we really enjoy walking around the area, it takes only 15mins walk to city centre. Room is clean and cozy, heater works very well.
Perfect location on the edge of the CBD with close access to tram. Bedding was high quality and sleep was great. clean room
the building is an older style building and doesn't have the flashy room decoration of newly renovated venue but the comfort is not compromised so for me it was totally fine and excellent value for money for a short stay.
Not much really to like. Front of building was nice to look at
2 singles instead of double. Very tight room wise and not very nice. Lucky to be a 2 star in my experience.
the location the old charm on site parking
showers could have been cleaner. beds and linen better quality
The receptionist was friendly and helpful
The bathroom needed more deeper cleaning I saw build up of lots in there. The dining room was filthy at breakfast on the weekend days. Tables needed clean table clothes and there was food on the floor. It needed a good vacuum.
the layout/ natural light to bathroom and bedroom fantastic light well has good potential. old ambience has good possibilities to develop.
after 5days the breakfast menu was getting a little bit boring. suggest you vary the hot breakfast menu formatt to add a variety on different days
Proximity to trams, close to Bridge St and easy access to the city. Close to Epworth Hospital. The staff were very helpful and nice.
It's a bit run-down, tiles missing in the bathroom, broken temp dial on the oil heater. The breakfast was adequate if a bit ordinary but still it's a good place to stay as long as you aren't expecting too much in the way of luxury.
The room was filthy, mould, dirt, dust, no privacy to use the spa which the jets were filthy dirt and crime in them. Glasses in the room were covered in oil, had to wash them to be used. Even the tablecloth (looked like it had not been changed for a month) at breakfast had foodscraps and crumbs all over t and we were the first to use that table on that day. There was mould on the walls and on the curtains, dust everywhere and thick heavy dust, so it wasn't just that somebody missed it. Far from happy a waste of time and money, nothing like pics from the internet check out room 10 not fit to let out. A thoroughly disappointing experience
Location homeliness value comfort
no more beautiful porridge very tiny room
My wife wasn't overly impressed with the facilities but as I said to her, it's an old building and you can't expect all mod cons. I enjoyed staying there due its old world charm which I love.
Train noise of a night was a little off putting especially at first.
Beds weren't too bad
The aircon heater didn't work, the shower suppose to be in the room but it was 15m out of the room, very old floors, squeaking,it's completely very old.
limited parking space.
Clean linen, window could be opened to let fresh air in, good television. Within the limits of the skybus courteous stops ie drop off and pick-up
No lift, very poor water pressure while having ashower and kept going hot and cold which could be dangerous. Further away than we thought it would be from city centre.
Staff very helpful and friendly On site parking (though limited) Central location for my needs Breakfast was varied and adequate without being 'over the top' Good shower, hot water! clean facilities
Rooms 'tired' but clean and comfy Window a bit dodgy (kept sliding open, couldn't adjust)
The place is old and has old style features that won't appeal to everyone. It's like a rabbit warren which I like. The breakfast was really good value included in the price of the room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is pretty close to the MCG - 10 to 15 minute walk. Close to a tram stop to the city 5 minute walk and Jolimont station 10 minute walk.
The shower water pressure was a bit ordinary as was the water temperature fluctuations.
Wall heater did not work. Dusty old oil column heater in room as substitute. Room small, cold, stuffy at night with column heater. Beds hard. No soap or shower cap provided. Noise from railway. No security catch on room door. Breakfast room freezing: communal vegemite, jam jar etc and 'fresh' fruit salad not fresh.
Breakfast Has a Great Selection.
The Bed Was To Firm Causing Back Ache Parking Area Is To Confined To Access For Large Cars
Breakfast was good and plenty of variety; bed was comfortable and room was clean; private parking was tight but adequate. Friendly service. Relatively quiet area considering the location (close to city and traffic).
We had a private bathroom which was clean and functional, but it was in a separate hall from the room. At night, when we needed to use the bathroom, it seemed a little inconvenient (but we survived). The house and all the facilities in it seemed a bit run down--could use some renovation. Otherwise, because we liked the location and the price (breakfast included), we chose to stay there once again at a later time during our stay in Melbourne.
wifi, free breakfast. free parking.
the floor is a bit dirty . the bathroom is next door to the room
The breakfast The free Wifi
The rude hotel manager The old and worn rooms with poor security The shared bathrooms with no towel hooks or anywhere to place clothing except the floor
Love the building & cosy old style ambience
Location, breakfast Included, Parking on site
Small amount of noise
