Loved the size of the bar and the layout of the whole place, it was clean, staff were very friendly and approachable. Excellent location, especially if your band is doing a gig at the jetty bar round the corner!!! Nice area, cool building. Good fuckin times!

One of worker was little bit rude.

They have a great beer garden out back, which comes alive at the weekend as the hostel has a DJ in the bar, and drinks are quite cheap which makes for a great place to meet fellow travelers! The beach is just a five minutes walk away when a cool dip is required.

No air-con at all. Just a fan in the rooms so there is no need for the quilt they give you except for use as an extra pillow. Also the kitchen appliances don't work properly, oven doors wont close and all hobbs come on when only one is needed.

Terrible security...no lockers available and other room keys could gain access to our building and room.

Staff at the reception are very nice. This time, in the downstairs room, it's much cooler than before.

Not much to say. Just wondering why the prices for people living in the same room are different. I paid $180 for 6 nights; and others paid $66 for 3 nights.:P

It was very clean, affordable, beds are comfortable, kitchen is well- equipped, the bar downstairs is good, overall an excellent place to stay. This place has definitely listened to customer feedback and improved itself.

A man I assume to be the owner was unnecessarily rude - I was reading downstairs in the lounge, and he presumed I wasn't a paying guest and I was just crashing on the couch at this hostel. Was very rude and hostile before even asking me to clarify my position. This was definitely not a deal-breaker but certainly didn't enhance the experience.

The location- close to beach and shopping.

Originally booked two single beds but arrived to a double bed. Also, check in was for 1pm however apparently the room was still being cleaned- eventually was allowed to check in at 2:30pm after the staff 'checked' that the room was vacant?! Very dissatisfied with the service.

Great location/staff service. Excellent experience for a solo traveller. Good value for money.

room tiny, with no where to hang clothes. One power socket hiding under bed which we had to move to use power. Very little cutlery, plates or mugs.

So clean! The kitchen facilities are EXCELLENT totally clean unlike some other hostels in Adeliade. The girls dormitory is bunk bed free and in a lovely period room. Shared bathrooms are clean. Nice free breakfast and good bar. On the tram line, close to the beach & the cafes.

Sometimes a little loud at night because it is near some bars. But this didn't bother me so much. It's quieter than most youth hostels. May have also been because the window was open and my room fronted onto the street.

The free wi-fi was fantastic !!

The room was quite warm as there was no air-conditioning (but I understand that as the price was cheap according to the location).

The location, ten km from downtown Adelaide, and four kilometres from the airport, made it convenient when we arrived late at night after a long flight. It is also a two minute walk to a beautiful white sand beach. The building is attractive from the exterior, being sandstone, and dating back to the nineteenth century. There are shops and cafes right outside the hostel. Buses and trams to downtown Adelaide are within a minute's walk. The person on night duty kindly stayed open for us after we had advised them we would be arriving late.

The common areas were very unappealing, with old furniture that was worn, dirty and stained. The areas were generally unclean, although the rooms, toilets and showers were clean and adequate. The light 'breakfast' that was included consisted of tea bags, instant coffee, powdered coffee creamer, three loaves of white bread left out for guests, and large jars of jams, all left in a kitchen area that was uninviting, at best.

Wi-fi service in the rooms was unreliable

Location is ideal without the usual added cost for the beachside convenience.

The door would rattle everytime someone came through the main door.

To get to any reception on arrival we had to pass dozens of drunk people partying which carried on till all hours of the morning spilling out the street, Bathroom facilities outside and not up to scratch. Advertising continental breakfast, which consists of bread, margarine and squeezie bottles of marmalade and jam, tea and coffee and no milk. Self service. This is not a continental breakfast as we know it. Price was exorbitant for that accomodation offered.
