The Glenferrie Hotel Hawthorn  

Close proximity to our function. The room was large and well equipped. The hotel had a nice " old world" charm. Much better than a bland motel or apartment.

Your staff were very helpful to my sister and I, your bistro excellent and I would not hesitaite to stay again and will certainly recommend The Glenferrie

Location in relation to the function that we we in Melbourne to attend. Staff were very attentive.

Room was very hot on arrival no air cond. on. Maintanance required to paint, carpet & toilet. Garage area small & no direct access to hotel.

The location was good with a train station close and tram line on the next street. Parking was provided free and the staff were helpful.

It was rather noisy with a damn street sweeper coming past at 5am on a Sunday morning! We were given a room on the second floor when it appeared there were very few guests staying, and it was rather awkward with bags etc. The room was nice and the bed huge, and the bathroom was good too. Being on a main road made it rather noisy and our room overlooked this road.

The family room was perfect for our needs and we loved the huge spa bath.

Very small car park. On website it was not clear that the family room was actually 2 adjoining rooms.

A little noisy and needed a blind/certain in the bathroom, let too much light in the morning.

Loved the atmosphere of the Hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfy and the spa bath was very nice. Well appointed rooms.

If you stay here, you are better off staying on the top floor. You get pub noise from downstairs staying on the first floor.

Location Location, Location! Close to the train station & tram stops. Plenty of eateries nearby. 10 mins into the CBD. Great selection of shops within walking distance plus two large supermarkets.

Being an old hotel, there were no double glazed windows. They had tried to dull the traffic noise with a magnetic 2nd window attachment but not really a good long term solution.

Old style building with lots of charm. Pub food downstairs is excellent, Double glazing on windows keeps even street front rooms quiet. Not flash and fancy, but very clean and cosy. Happy to stay here anytime.

Affordable and beautiful rooms, accessible via public transport, your staff are pleasant and welcoming. 10/10 and would definitely consider staying there again.

That I wasn't able to stay longer!

Our daughter enjoyed the stay at the hotel because she loved the bathroom. She also loved it because she enjoys learning history, so she loved the design of the building.

At night we heard a noise coming from the floor above us, so we did not sleep well.We tried to ring reception at 1.00 am in the morning but no answered. In the morning we were tired. In the morning when we didn't see any staff.( We knew the Hotel opened at 9.00 am ) please check the room above I think it may be heater or fan.

No fuss, friendly service. Well maintained and clean.

Läget var väldigt bra för oss. Mysigt hotell,sköna sängar och jacuzzi på rummet. Pub i anslutning till hotellet,god mat, Trevlig personal.

Jag tycker om heltåckningsmattor som det var överallt i hotellet men är man allergisk ska man nog välja ett annat hotell.

La atencion del personal en especial de mark henderson que sin hablar español y yo muy poco ingles fue amable y gentil con disponibilidad impresionante. Estuve 12 dias con mi hijo que es estudiante en melbourne y tiene la misma impresion. Buen lugar, cerca de todo, comercio metro, el servicio de tranvias (yarra)comercio pasenlo bien felicidades. Cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, comfort of room, decor, attention to detail

Expensive; a notice at reception indicated that it is staffed from 7 am but no staff available until after 9 on Sat morning (the absence of staff wasn't the issue; the problem was that the notice indicated otherwise), street noise audible in room, quality of food in restaurant, service in restaurant (though I believe that staff are relatively new)

nice heritage rooms plenty of space not like some modern boxes/rooms, large bed, spa, comfy couch,wine bar downstairs, very impressive cafe next door,parking, good location what more does one need? would definitely stay again

The room was extremely comfortable! I enjoyed my overnight stay. The breakfast is great value, you get a good feed for a very minimal price. Visitors staying at the hotel should understand that the hotel and the bar are in the same building but the noise from downstairs is minimal - there's actually more street noise if you happen to have a room that faces onto Burwood Road.

I understand that this is essentially a pub with a hotel attached, however if the reception sign says that the desk will be manned from 9am on a Saturday, then there should be someone there from 9am - not 9.20 or 9.30 or whenever someone feels like showing up. That would be the only thing I didn't like about my stay. I had to leave early and couldn't wait around for someone to turn up.
