Breakfast was great. Keep it up . Continental breakfast is crap. A hot breakfast is always a winner and it brings guests together

The location is great and the staff allowed us to check-out late, which was great. The facilities were very basic and lacking a bit in presentation. There was no kettle (until requested) and the coffee and tea were lumped into a plastic container. The shared bathrooms are unisex which we didn't like very much, especially when you're a family trying to juggle children.

Although the lodge is Older, I was very appreciative of the "new" comfortable bed/mattress, clean fresh white sheets and pillows/slips, and white towels and shower products. This is the first time I have stayed at a Lodge for over 40 years since a child, having reservations of the backpackers scenario. I acknowledge that I would have to share a bathroom, and was extremely happy that at room 13, I had a choice of 2 bathrooms, 5 steps away from my room. (Although I did not stay in hi season when all rooms would be full) They should indicate steps, no lifts on their information (see below) Steps, not lifts. This was ok for me, but I could not recommend this venue to other not so active or medically unwell friends. This also includes steps from the Ferry, so I would have to agree that only fit and independent people can stay at Glenferrie Lodge. This should be on the booking info... steps, no lifts.

I loved the old style charm. The breakfast was really good and the staff friendly and accommodating. Being near to public transport and to a million dollar view of the city was a real bonus. I have recommended it to my family and they have booked a stay in next week! The shared bathroom

It's a good value location. The breakfast is terrific. Easy access to the ferry and shops and trains. Three main things - The distracting door banging from other patrons. The doors need to be modified to reduce noise when these shut. - the TV in the room needs to be updated from analogue to digital. - the ceiling fan needs to operate at more than one slow speed.

Location Very noisy at night & very inadequate bathroom facilities.I also did not like the fact that I could not get a refund when I gave 3 days notice that I wanted to cancel my 4th night.

the breakfast was good, and i was pleased it was included in the price. The price was very good compared to other local hotels, and considering its location, I was happy to pay it. the communal bathrooms could have been cleaned daily preferably, as it was fully booked and there were a lot of people using those four toilets and showers on our floor. I stayed for an additional week to our weekend stay, so it would have been nice to received some sort of discount for the bulk stay, but I enjoyed our stay there regardless.

The staff were fantastic, very helpful. There was a toenail in the bed, the rooms were not cleaned during our stay, and all the facilities - laundry, internet, vending machines - required coins but the hotel had no change.

“A sensible choice in a great location” 7 Mar 2012 2travelersLondonUK The best thing about the Lodge is its great location, in the very smart Kirribilli district, and only a very short ferry ride to the city centre. There are good local shops and restaurants. The hotel is a nice building but the rooms are small and really basic, but clean. Communal washing facilities, although an archaic arrangement these days, are again clean, and function well. The breakfast is very good, but if the hotel is full, the event itself is chaos. The room is hopelessly arranged and too small. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, although there was no sign of anyone actually in charge of things. If you are prepared to 'go basic' then the Lodge is worth considering; just don't expect too much. It is a reasonable value base for exploring the great city of Sydney. The cost of the wireless Internet is ridiculous wake up most places in the world offer this for free as an reason to choose

The location of Glenferrie Lodge was its best feature. It was a short walk to the ferry which took you across to Circular Quay. Good restaurants and convenience stores were close by. The cooked breakfast was more than adequate. Glenferrie Lodge is a beautiful old building, but it is very tired. It needs a good coat of paint and a good clean. The shared bathroom facilities were dirty. The security was non-existent. Anyone could walk off the street as quite often there was no one at Reception to challenge their entry. There were also many points of entry which were left open all night. The front of house staff were left wanting on many occasions. If they ignored the problem it would go away type of thing. Only stay here if you expect to rough it a little. The fact that there wasn't a lift would be difficult for a lot of people. Their website looks great but it is not what you get.

The function we were attending (a wedding) at the royal yacht squadron the proximity was excellent. Parking was a challenge but we managed it ok. Breakfast was great and the lawn out the back was a lovely place to relax. Reataurants were within walking distance as well. We had a lovely weekend at Glenferrie Lodge, thank you. Everything was good, no problems.
