Breakfast in the Laucenston Grand Chancellor was not as good as Hobart. No cold mets, cheese or salmon in Launceston. They ran out of bread for toast.
Great central location. Good size room.
Would have been nice to get some help with our bags while trying to manage 2 young kids.
Clean room. Bed comfortable.
Stuffy rooms. Pathetic air conditioner that made that much noise you couldnt sleep and then it was so humid and stuffy you couldnt sleep anyway. Pathetic view of a dirty roof. So outdated.
location very convenient staff very helpful
air con very slow to change climate in room air con noisy in cooling mode
poor air conditioning
Lack of sleep due to excessively noisy fridge , you could even clearly hear the fridge in the next room.
Close to festivale
Was expecting a bath and was dissapointed when there wasn't one
Comfortable bed, great shower
The room was dated, with a portable air con that was so loud we had to turn it off - leading to a stuffy room
Convenient location to Festivale and great cafe Samuel Pepy's (use rear entrance/exit).
No ducted air conditioning. Floor unit was extremely noisy. Never seen anything like it in all my travels. Without the airconditioner on the room was very uncomfortable from general lack of air flow in the rooms and corridor. No gym. Name totally deceptive.
Only had small amount of teabags in room. We were unable to locate a grocery store close by but staff gave us some more when we asked. Only 3 pillows in room. Only 2 towels, women need another to wash hair
Bed comfortable, bathroom excellent.
Charge $5.00 per half hour for wifi! Charge 1.5% for ANY credit card! Add on 'air conditioning', so noisy that it can't be used whilst one is in the room... Our room 5021, we were awake listening for water/spa bath on off and water running from 3.30 am until around 5.00 am. Two very expensive nights. Never again...
The room did not have ducted heating/airconditioning and the stand alone unit was very noisy and unpleasant.
Clean, comfortable, everything we needed was in the room. Bit pricey though!
Staff were delightful. Great atmosphere, and clean.
The location of the hotel is good. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel was almost empty and they gave us the corner room that was next to a club and could hear people screaming all night. Beds were average and the room was dated. Bathrooms were renovated though,,,
They charge like wounded bulls for everything, parking, internet, movies. Not one smile from a staff member.
Location close to business venue.
Waited at the restaurant for more than 10 minutes for somebody to show me to a table (as the sign at the entrance requested) but that didn't happen so I went elsewhere.
The Bed and the pillows were great.
There were no facilities (gym or Pool) and the restaurant was pretty expensive.
An upgrade a recently renovated room was appreciated.
Did not enjoy the bar fridge experience when returning from touring hot and thirsty opened a beer only to find that some previous occupant had drank the beer and replaced it with water. Reception was apologetic and replaced the two stubbies.
The hotel location and the facilities
Some of the Front desk staff were not very friendly. Some of the furniture, fixtures and fittings are in need of some maintenance work.
Check in staff great
Wait staff took their time taking orders in the restaurant
The best thing about the room was the shower
The cooling was a desk fan on the floor, the lamp was broken, mismatched glasses, lumpy pillows and overall dated and poor quality.
The staff were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The location of the hotel was superb as its close to everything. Room and facilities in the room were good too.
Being charged $6 for parking per day especially when your staying at the hotel is a bit unfair as if your new to the place you have no choice but to pay it.
It is only 5 minutes walk to the free Monkey enclosure in the park which we visited multiple times. Also very close to the Boags brewery and lots of great restaurants. Very clean room and the staff were very helpful.
The breakfast buffet was good however the bacon was very rubbery and the automatic coffee machine was producing a horrid liquid other than coffee.
