Location in the city was good. It was close to the event I attended. I did not think the room was up to 4 star standard. It was adequate but not luxurious. |

I requested a twin share room with balcony access which was provided exactly as requested. The room was ready on our arrival and the staff were helpful and pleasant. The room provided everything we needed and was adequate for our purposes - and the price and location were excellent. It is starting to show its age. Little things like chipped tiles and a sort of musty smell and shabby carpets. It isnt a five star hotel but it is excellent value for money. |

Great food for breakfast, lot of nice fruit and lots to choose from. The reception staff were all helpful. The room was very old and tied. The bed was far to small our feet hung over the end. |

Appreciated a very comfortable bed and a spacious room. It is close to China Town and other eateries, theatres and shops. Unfortunately the bed was a little short as our feet kept sticking out over the end! |

Brilliant breakfasts, staff really helpful, polite and friendly. Shower cubicle had some mould at the bottom in the corners and kettle cord had to be held in place to boil it completely (Rm 1610) |

The position was very good as we were going to the theartre. Also the meals were beautifully served both Dinner & Breakfast . they were a reasonable price. As my friend and I had a Twin Share room another sanitary pack would be nice |

The staff were very good and tried their best. The hotel wasa glorified building site as it was undergoing renovations. Lots of things did not work including hot water |

the food was wonderful - tender and very tasty and the location was very Central in CBD I would not use the roof top pool in winter. It would be soooo cold getting out into the freezing breeze. The gym was out of order. |

Staff at reception were very helpful and curtious. Needs to be refurbished, no shampoo, conditioner, lotion or soap in dispensers. Had to ask for extra coffee, shampoo, conditioner and soap after the room was made up. |

My boss is five-foot-six and the bed was too short. He had a very bad night's sleep. We would have thought that at least beds should be a standard length. The two other guests are both taller but slept diagonally. Unfortunately, it will be the last time we stay in this particular Grand Chancellor. Two down. Didn't like the one in Wellington New Zealand either. |

Close to the location where we needed to be. The room was not clean and it didn't match the expectations highlighted in the description. It said there was a "large bath" and there wasn't. As this had been a feature we had selected the room on, needless to say it was a disappointment. |

Whenever I travel for work, I stay at hgc because it is reliably comfortable, clean and convenient. This is for Brisbane and Melbourne - I stayed at the old hgc in Adelaide but visited the newer one which looked fine. I like the quality linen, the great entrances, the breakfasts, that you can get a decent meal in your room or downstairs, it is always clean and efficient. My favoured place when travelling for work - and have taken husband there on leisure too. Yes the menu offers very few options for people with sensitive stomachs - tomato in most things - and when I requested to change an ingredient around for this reason, I was told I would be charged for the ingredient as though it were a side dish, even though I was swapping it over for 2 other ingredients. This was not negotiable so I got a meal at a nearby restaurant instead. |

Close to the mcg and the Melbourrne Museum for football and the Titanic Exhibition. Wanted to do buffet breakfast on arrival, as travelled from interstate early. Because it was a very full hotel they weren't able to accommodate the request. We did have a 4.30am brekkie box on departure. |
