Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne  

Will not stay in one of those rooms with the split down the middle of the mattres again. Bad choice. If I had known that when choosing a room with a larger balcony, I still would have prefered a smaller balcony with a normal mattress.

Good location to the city and restaurants. Clean and very nice rooms. Would recommend.

Great central location to Melbourne Hub.Very tidy room with excellent room service. Staff very prompt and efficient.

The bed was a little small for average size couple but for the price fair.

Noisy in the moning

I really enjoyed the location, in the heart of Melbourne. Good service with friendly staff. The Greek Resturant Dora (just up from the hotel) was magnificent. We had a good stay

The heated pool was not available during our stay which was disappointing as the was the selling point for us while choosing the hotel online. Otherwise quite enjoyable

It's excellent location and helpful staff

The room did not meet the expectations of a four star hotel. The grout between the tiles on the bathroom wall had mould between them. The photos on the site we booked through we're misleading. The room from the photos was larger and of a much higher standard than the room we had. We have stayed in many 4 star hotels and this room went no where near any of them. We asked for a room with a view when we booked and all we got was a cement wall. Happy hour was poor compared with happy hours elsewhere. Normally happy hour applies to a range if not all drinks not one particular beer and wine.

Well presented and comfortable. Room upgrade to a very spacius room available at small cost Encore Restaurant is exceptioanal for the quality of its food, good service and great value for money

Great location, very easy to get to all parts of the cbd. Good size room.

Dated rooms. Had booked a King Bed room but was 2 singles pushed together. No gym. No wifi.

Well presented older building but with refurbished rooms and well presented amenities Truly excellent dining with well prepared daily specials at remarkably low price and similar for breakfast

Mattresses lacked sufficient topping for my liking

The staff were very helpful, especially on Saturday evening when we arrived late back from our conference. The young lady who was organising the restaurant, and the chef who cooked our meals at the last minute meant that we had a good finish to the day. It happened to also be our wedding anniversary, so it was nice just to relax, and not have to go out for dinner.

The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are very clean.

The hot water took a long time to heat up and was unreliable. The service in the restaurant for dinner was extremely slow - I think the staff lacked adequate training.

The only 2 things that I liked about the hotel was it's general cleanliness and location.

The staff were not particularly helpful about amenities, etc.
