Showers were shocking.
Clean hotel in central city easy walking distance to most of the attractions. useful for the White night festival and sporting events/concerts as about 20 min walk away to venues.
The location was perfect as we saw a show at Her Majesty's theatre which was around the corner. Close to China town and lots of good restaurants.
We had a triple room so was expecting 2 Queen beds, but there was a double, a single and a portable fold out bed. The fold out bed wasn't very comfortable but the proper beds were fine
The car park system is absolutely shocking along with the valet parket's attitude and the pictures on the Internet decieve the real thing
Despite my room being upgraded to a superior from standard, which I was pleased about on arrival, I found the room to be quite small and wondered what the standard room would have been. I think value for money, considering it was a pay up front special ..grossly overpriced. However considering the Aust Open was on that weekend I imagine all hotels 'jacked' up their prices.
don't get much for your money... very small rooms
Breakfast and location
Room not serviced until I rang and asked for it room close to pool door floor often wet slippery dangerous
Very central to tennis and City Central
Party downstairs somewhere
Takes far too long to get your deposit back. Been a week and still waiting !!
Staff are very friendly and accomodating and very helpful.
We arrived late at 10pm and were very well looked after conviniant parking great central location and the staff very friendly
Staff very helpful and courteous. Food very nice. Fairly central to everything.
Bed was very uncomfortable, mattress passed its used by date.
Perfect location, helpful and friendly staff, Encore restaurant, 11 am checkout
Having to purchase WiFi
Had to upgrade room. Paid for wi_fi Surcharge on credit cards
Location was superb!
Water pressure in the shower was very very low. Could hardly bath properly for the 3 nights I stayed there. And I didn't find anything so special in the hotel or in the room that I was charged so much for 3 nights. Room was also very small.
Cleanliness, friendliness, location, helpfulness.
Consider it despicable that in this day and age the hotel takes profits from Wi-Fi usage. Come on folks...it is the 21st century!
Firstly, on checking in, the staff were rude to me, even condescending. Then there was the room. Not what I paid for. It was very dirty, nothing modern about it at all and the 'balcony' was so filthy and smelly and looked out over a dingy alley way with no view. The bathroom was dirty, very old and there was no hot water. You could hear all the other guests in the hallway and the room was nothing like the pictures on booking.com's page, the description of the room on booking.com was that of a modern, prestige and comfortable room. I got the complete opposite of this. The experience really put a downer on my stay in Melbourne. I was expecting what I paid for and I am concerned about the nice advertising the hotel use to lure guests to book with them. I'll never stay there again. I do not believe this hotel is a 4 star.
Staff at front desk are friendly
Noise from other rooms
The room was comfortable and very clean. And the location is excellent, in the heart of the city.
They only thing I didn't like was the water pressure, it took me forever to wash out the shampoo and conditioner from my hair. And at times, I'd lose the cold water completely.
The room was small and had no view. The wardrobe was an old cupboard that didn't close properly, the bathroom was outdated and the main room light was directly over the bed making room lighting intrusive for anyone lying down. It was very overpriced. Nothing to recommend it.
The pool was very good and the best part about the stay. Rooms were also tidy
No fan in the bathroom which causes mirrors to fog up, rooms are quite small.. I asked specifically for a king size bed.. I got two single size beds put together which isn't good enough considering i paid money for it.. asked for a nice view as it was my girlfriend birthday and our anniversary.. got next to nothing view. The guy in the underground parking was very rude, said something to reception and it was like they didn't care.. Spoke to a guy on the phone asking if i can pay bond in cash as he said yes i can.. i got money out of the atm then to be told that I can only pay bond on my card.. Overall i thought it was way below average as my partner also shares the same opinion.. Would not spend my money at the grand chancellor again. Paid alot of money for very little in return.
Location is pretty good and the room is fairly spacious.
Should have free Wifi for what you pay, staff not exactly overly professional or well-trained
Staff at front desk vey friendly and helpful Being able to leave car in car park Breakfast facilities excelent
It appeared in need of refurbishment, no coffee in room Although Melbourne was having a light festival coming from NSW we had not heard about it, tried to stay extra night but at the exorbitant price of $800 for night, No Thankyou!
Your hotel is very central to everything and convenient. The staff was most helpful and cheery. Thank you
The location was perfect and the room was clean, spacious and had great views from our room.
