Location, dinner at the Restaurant, Not being told of the charge for car parking, just given the entry card. The long black hairs attached by static to the bathroom wall behind the door, along with the black smudge (mould}. Pamphlet in room promoting stocked mini-bar when no such service existed. Hairdresser did not work, reception were helpful and brought up one to the room quite quickly

Old world ambience. History. Excellent restaurant (Charcoals) and breakfast. Rooms fronting Murray Street are extremely noisy. Not sure of solution but staying in these not recommended if you are a light sleeper.

I thought the staff were always really pleasant and extremely helpful, especially on the front desk I found the food especially through room service was of a very poor standard. I ate from the restaurnt on 3 of the 4 nights I stayed there and was disappointed every time I tried something new. I ended up sticking to soup, oysters and the passionfruit tart were the only things that I felt were worthwhile reordering. The calamari was like it was out of the freezer, the roast pork was overcooked with a disgusting gravy, the steak said it came with a mushroom sauce and it came with what looked like 3 canned mushrooms and no sauce at all. The roast vegetables were overcooked and dried out. It was a real disappointment to me.

Clean room and friendly staff Carpets were taken up and replaced in the hotel entrance after 10pm at night and the noise was loud and lasted throught out the night - we heard this from our room on the 2nd floor facing the courtyard. Very inconsiderate!

The hotel was conveniently located with well fitted out room, and available excellent restaurant which is why we chose Hadley's. The staff were very personal and willing to help and advise as required. The historic nature of the building was very pleasing. The room did not have opening windows to outside fresh air and also the airconditioning did not function correctly in terms of noise level, proper cooling or fresh air input.

Liked the hotel and the furnishings .the food was good and the location was good .Parking was good and did not mind doing it myself. I did not like that after arriving from a rather long and stressfull trip .I had to lug my bags from the street to my room. It set the wrong tone to the begining of our stay.had it been otherwise i may have stayed longer at the hotel

The staff were helpful and polite. The location was useful. The hotel in old and decrepit. One gets the inptession that management is screwing as much out of it as possible with little intention of providing genuinly good accomodation. Everything creaked and groaned. The air con stank and had to be cleaned. The hook on the back of the door was a nail. There was a raw plug inthe tiles in the bath/shower and a missing soap dish. There was a switch but no ceiling light. One of the light diffuser in the bathroom was cracked an came with loud thump.

The 0lde worlde charm. The location. Obliging staff when the tv stopped working. No plug in the bath. Crack in the bath which I guess is why there was no plug. There should have been a note. The phone didn't work. Advertised as air conditioned but it didn't work and as having dvd which it didn'T. Neither worried us but when it is advertised it should have these things.

Reception staff great in accommodating my choice of room-didnt want one over the street. Quiet away from the street, but at Christmas time, beware.! Cathedral Bells go on for long periods at times ..lovely, but very loud!!.Staff service was very good ,and they were very sympathetic and helpful when on Christmas Eve I was ill all day in bed.Room was comfortable and housekeeping was excellent. On my first night, Sunday night, room service menu was missing-why did it take two calls & 35 mins to get one!? They had to "print one up"?! No biccys with coffee and tea facs. in room.Buffet breakfast fair, but nothing special.Eg.Some fresh croissants would have been nice. .Maintenance in public areas poor-lots of chipped paint on Rest. Doors and scuff marks on corridor doorways. I noticed a dirty room service tray outside #304 for two days!! Evening dining room lights make it look like a mining canteen-so bright!! Time to restore Hadleys' faded glory.P.S.TV's not acceptable, even in a lower star place-only 2 stations available!

*lovely surrounds *antique furniture *magnificent piano *computer access in lobby - free *proximity to mall, markets, wharf.. *polite and considerate cleaning staff. * Well, I hesitate to mention it, since we so loved the hotel, BUT...on three different occasions, we discovered that the staff(well, the ones we spoke to) had absolutely no knowledge of public transport, or locations (eg. did not know a newsagent was next door, had not heard of Franklyn Square, or know that buses leave from there, and gave totally incorrect bus stop/time information)

The hotel was located close to major tourist attractions. The hotel was not clean, poorly maintained (e.g bedside lamps did not work and towel rail broken). There was no cold water in fridge and no mini bar provided. Poor value for money. Concerns about booking process and double charging.

the location We could not open the window (it was a sash window and the ropes had disintegrated. We didn't have plugs in the bathtub or basin, so it was impossible to shave properly. The fridge was full of water and leaking out of the cupboard and onto the carpet (which is probably why the room smelt dank. Despite reporting these issues twice, no attempt was made to rectify them. It would have been simple to bring a plug to the room, but that did not happen either, despite promises to do so. We were charged more than the advertised price for parking. TV was tiny and we could only get one channel.
