I absolutely loved the historic feel of the hotel, and the generous and gracious guest lounges and other places to pause and enjoy the atmosphere. I would definitely love to visit again when I am in Hobart.
We loved the old fashsioned style of the room.
There was no view from the bedroom window.
Walking distance to Salamanca, BatteryPoint, Art Gallery, etc. Ferry to MONA. Excellent restuarants, cafés close by. Hotel retains old world charm, had a most comfortable stay.
The hotel room smelled of mildew. I was then one week sick with fever cough and runny nose. We reported it the staff no reaction.
Location was great. The Hotel itself was a tribute to its history.
Parking off site but I appreciate not much could be done about it.
Location is excellent, staff friendly, rooms comfortable and adequate, good cooked breakfast and it all works.
Only on small lift thst is in a time warp for guests.
Air con didn't work
The Staff were wonderful. It was the best!!!
Proximity was great and close to everything.
Main room is a bit dark due to the lack of lightning. Lamps just don't do enough.
Heritage hotel features
I loved whole atmosphere and friendly staff. Victoria architecture esp atrium.
Needs good bread eg sourdough or artisan for breakfast in place of commercial
Atmosphere was great, staff very helpful, large rooms, meals were very nice... would stay there again.
Having to leave !
Close to a function that we had to attend.
Nescafé coffee in rooms yuk! And no fresh milk. Parking was a problem perhaps we should have been asked when we booked "did we have a car"
Staff service was amazing Comfort of the room Location Food great
Room a little dark
Could not fault anything at Hadleys Staff were excellent and the décor was just lovely, even had a pianist sat night to entertain, excellent food also, thumbs up for this one I would stray again.
Location was ideal & staff on the whole efficient and friendly.
Guy on check out reception, not too flash!
Staff were most helpful and pleasant although they appeared to be multi tasking. Good to see the restoration work being undertaken on such a potentially attractive period building.
Perhaps some additional staffing whilst the restoration takes place?
Homely style. Large room.
Bells at St Davids on Sunday morning - lucky we weren't sleeping in.
Location and meals
Hopeless bathroom, nowhere to hang clothes unless one likes to hang them on the toilet or basin. Surely a hook on the back of the bathroom door is not a big ask. One towel rail for a family room. Why not put a mirror in the huge room so someone else can get ready while the bathroom is in use. That mirror so fogged up cant see anyway. Full length mirror would have been good but would have settled even for a small one. Hooks and mirrors are not expensive items and could surely be covered by the cost of the accommodation. Approx. $237 per night. There was only 2 of us and only booked this family room as there was limited accommodation at the time of our visit due to renovations. The new carpet is beautiful but does not make up for lack of conveniences in room. Little better than "backpackers" facilities and very disappointing.
Great location for walking access to Hobart attractions. Historic hotel with charm. Excellent restaurant
I have stayed here before and was surprised to see how well and nicely you have renovated the place. I will certainly return and will bring friends.
I missed the excellent restaurant that you used to have. Wasn't impressed with the bar menu or venue. The breakfast room was cold. Didn't like that you debited my MC for the cost and took a week to return it - so in fact I paid double the amount.
Location and history
The noisy creaky floors and the weak shower
Staff very friendly and helpful. Location very central to everything. Rooms quite large.
It was a little noisy - double glazing perhaps an improvement. Rooms were very spacious - would have liked a lounge in the room - there was the space.
The ambience and the history and décor of the hotel. Central to CBD and walking distance to many sights and things we wanted to do and see
