Great Southern Hotel  

Very central staff was very helpful and it was clean. I will stay again this was my fourth stay with you. See you again soon. Can you tell me is the dinning room open for a meal at night. Thank you.

Location, helpful and happy staff. Room temperature during day was good. I would stay in this hotel again

Room adequate but small, noise from other rooms and in the passage audible. Room a bit warm overnight and could not be adjusted to cool down.

it was comfortable, the rooms are clean, the bed comfortable, the meals delicious, it is central to transport, darling Harbou,r the markets, the entertainment centre. we love the place

Have stayed here a few times and never disappointed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Central location to shops and attractions. Great value for money.

Smoke alarm battery noisey but a phone call to the front desk soon got it fixed.

I Liked that it was close enough to the station so I could walk and catch a train instead of paying for parking ,close to Markets ,china town,entertainment centre and darling Harbour,plus ferries to circular key.

I did not like that booking .com advertised 84 dollars a room We stayed 2nights was charged double that for the first night and had to pay another 74 dollars to stay for the second the booking got horribly mixed up also they thought we were only staying one night ....could someone check that out and email me on it Please .

Such a great location when attending shows at the Entertainment Centre and Capital Theatre. Paddy's Markt and China Town at youe back door.

my mother who is 92 and myself have stayed there 5 times so close to all entertainment the markets food in hotel restaurant was great light rail close by will always stay there. public transport out the front.

Food and having a place close by to have a cigarette

Great location for where we were going and just a good walk to the Quay

Trying to get out of the Wilson carpark on Thomas street didn't like cash all good in regards to the Hotel

Excellent location for arriving by train and wanting to catch train to other destinations. Easy walk to Entertainment centre and darling harbour/rocks.

Should stagger check-out times as it takes for ever to check out at 10 am but they charge $10 per hour for a late check-out.

Great location, walking distance to Chinatown if you need late-night eats, and also to good massage clinics. Affordable rates for the location.

Bed was very uncomfortable - I could feel the springs - needs more padding.

The central location, reception staff very helpful and friendly and 24 hour service good.Liked the non serviced room. Room was very comfortable and clean. Tariff was good on this trip but on other trips experienced much higher tariff. Is this to do with lead time in booking or availability?

Worn crumpled carpet in the hall ways.

They let us check in early, after a 15 hour flight this was much appreciated.

Location is good. Very close to Central Station.

Poor attitude. Told us we had to wait until noon to check in. Then when we went back told us we needed to wait until two. When I inquired where on the confirmation form the time 2pm was written, the clerk did not even help me look but rather told me to "keep looking" with a look of contempt. It is as if we weren't good enough for this shabby hotel.

The location. Lunch. The preserved history of the Hotel. Friendly staff. Nice cold beer in the pub.

The bathroom could be cleaner. I never cease to be amazed that bathrooms in hotels have dirty/mouldy grout. It's not that hard to prevent folks!!! Breakfast. There are still way too many cold dishes. Again, it's not too hard to keep buffet breakfast's warm at least. And last, that despite booking thru an online site, the Hotel debited my credit card as soon as I booked. Five weeks prior to out stay.

Location makes the whole city so accessible. It felt safe and secure at all times. It was quiet on the inside and all other guests were civilised and mature

Room was back against Thomas St and there's quite a bit of noise from early-morning garbage trucks servicing the area

The proximity to Central Station (about 5 minutes) and shops was great. For an older hotel the rooms for an overnight stay were good, bathroom clean, beds were comfortable with no noise from traffic.

The only negative was it was too noisy to eat in the bar with the Friday night after work crowd and it was cold in the dining room area.
