Location was good, could walk to everything.
It was obvious the bathroom was cleaned in a rush. Their was quite a bit of hair on the floor which was very off putting. Also we turned up 5 minutes before check-in and guy who answered buzzer was very rude. Wouldn't go back
in downtown free wifi in lobby simple breakfast included
no parking no lift
The room, though very small, was clean and neat and had a small kitchenette. Clean bathroom. Good aircon. Friendly owner. Excellent location in heart of city, short 5-10 min walk to Salamanca and Battery Point. Breakfast was basic (cereal, toast, instant tea and coffee) but plenty of it. Great place for a short stay if you're not planning to spend too much time in the room. We were in Hobart for Australia Day long weekend and it was about the only place I could find in the city for under $100 if you didn't want to stay in a backpackers.
The bedrooms were very noisy - tiled corridors and no lift so you would hear people puffing and panting to get up the stairs and then dragging their suitcases to their rooms. The rooms were very close together too so it sounded almost like people were about to walk into your room. WiFi only works in foyer but apparently the owner is working to fix this.
helpful and friendly front office staff eg recommending great seafood resturant, helpful re local sights and directions, helping carry luggage up stairs.
the room wasn't really clean, eg floors in bathroom and bedroom Wifi was slow
Helpful staff location very good clean and tidy
no tv reception
Perfect location, Great comfortable room, amazing staff, they made my trip in Tasmania!
Rooms were small and run down, no lift despite being three stories, no wifi,no parking, not even any milk for tea/coffee
Free wi-fi, comfy bed, easy walk to rest of CBD. Cheap, free breakfast (weet-bix, toast, juice). Friendly staff.
Smelly plumbing, wi-fi can only be accessed in foyer and outside building, electricity shut down middle of the night and no-one was available until 8am. As a result, food in my fridge had gone warm and had to be thrown out. Could hear the neighbours- someone clearly had sleep apnea and another person's alarm went off at 4 in the morning for about 15 minutes.
Location is excellent Staff were wonderful Bed was comfortable Excellent value for money Breakfast is included, although hopefully there will be more options in the future
The hotel needs a bit of a makeover however the owner had only just taken over the hotel the day before my stay and he is very eager to fix it up. Needs carpet in rooms, the tiles are freezing, even in summer as Hobart gets cold. Needs a bigger bathroom with hanging space. The room I was in would benefit from soundproofing as the street traffic and noise from the pub nearby is very loud, and the door to the balcony rattled in the wind.
Dirty. Rude people. Very very small room. No WiFi. NO FIRE ESCAPE. One door in no door out.
The situation was not bad.
Wifi only worked at a lounge. Breakfast was not good, sometimes had to ask for it. For four days no cleaning.
staff attitude and no electricity on our second day at this hotel
The bathroom smelt. The building is poorly constructed - taps not fitted properly, powerpoints that do not work, power cords exposed, vents coming away from the wall.
We were a group of 6 with 3 rooms. The rooms were very basic, cheap looking and not particularly clean. Nothing was provided. We had to ask for basics like drinking glasses, cups and cutlery. No tea, coffee or milk to make a drink. The air conditioning was noisy, electric wires were taped together and the remote to the television was missing. Breakfast was terribly basic. Cheap cereals and white sliced bread. The owner just didn't seem to care.
Location is central. Got what I expected for a $90 room.
No lift to my second floor room with all my luggage.
