As in other reviews of the venue it is a bit tired and needs updating and a lick of paint . carpets tired shower leaked nothing a bit of silastic wouldn't fix ,there was also a musty smell not offensive but noticeable

The staff were excellent. Hayley on Reception especially. But all of them were helpful, efficient and very charming. The food in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast was wonderful. The bed was deliciously comfortable.

The exterior door on the block outside our room (219) which banged closed after every guest entering or leaving the building. The step into the bathroom is an invitation to stub toes. And the immobile rose on the shower -it was impossible to check the water temperature without soraying it all over the floor. This is a serious slip hazard.

An excellent breakfast. Commodious room. Loved having a bath.

It was affordable, clean and comfortable. In comparison to other hotels in Canberra which were twice as expensive, it was within our budget and provided good accommodation. Parking was also fairly easy and accessible.

The fact that you have to upgrade to a hot breakfast by paying $11 extra per person. A continental breakfast should already include hot and cold food. That was the only disappointing aspect of our stay.

Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to and from city, as there is bus stop right outside reception (about 30mins). Reasonable price for size of room and facilities.

Few OH&S issues, was scalded by the shower and mangled my toe on a small step into the bathroom. A little signage or fixing would easily solve. Carpet could do with a steam clean.

Rooms were a good size. The Hotel is close to everything, rooms are very clean, staff were friendly & helpful, breakfast great and plentiful. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Hot water - very little on one morning House keeping needs to note problems in rooms when cleaning - eg plug stuck in sink and unable to be moved Public holiday and the restaurant for breakfast closed at 9.30 when on a weekend it is open until 10am

Our room was327 and we exited the room via the fire escape to our car which we had to park in the rear car park. The stairs were filthy,and the area outside the bottom door was a disgrace for the 4 nights of our stay,littered with butts,cans etc.

Pool was located in front of restaurant like a 'gold fish bowl'

Location

The bathroom floor had lots of hair left by the last guests. It was 9.45pm when I got to the room, I wasn't in a position to ask Housekeeping to clean up. Whilst inside the room, I can hear conversations from other guests, in the next room, in the corridor, a few doors away.

Each of the mornings we had breakfast we had to put a number of plates or cups aside before we found a clean one - it looked like dishwasher food residue and in one instance a butter wrapper was stuck to the bottom of a plate
