Hides Hotel    

Toen ik aankwam waren en haren op mijn kussen en bed. De kamers waren dramatich schoongemaakt en waren erg! Smerig. het was een vies hotel, had het geboekt voor 2 nachten maar ben er maar een nacht gebleven en eigenlijk was ik dat niet een van plan maar ik kon niks anders. Ontbijt is van 6 tot 9uur, waardeloze tijd. kamer was klein geen tv,geen eigen toillet, douch, vloer was smerig en beddengoed waren haren op. de kamer rook heel vreemd, Dus voor mij een dikke onvoldoende, voor de prijs dat je betaald is het waardeloos.

No kettle when advertised no changes of towel unless u asked bin never emptied in bathroom old beds

On our arrival, the desk clerk was helpful on our needs. For this, we were very grateful and happy because we were not charged extra for our upgrade. Thankyou. We enjoyed the breakfast experience very much. This was nice eating on the old veranda.

The egg thief taking most the eggs at breakfast. But it was all in good fun.

i live in cairns and needed budget, comfy accomodation for 1 night to work early the next morning. It was everything I was seeking, love the verandah and relaxed nature. My friend and I were upgraded from a double bunk bed room to single beds with ensuite - much appreciated. Thank you

The bathrooms. They were extremely dirty. No new towels etc. Everything felt dirty. Not enough staff to keep this huge building was my guess

No maid service. No tea/coffee making equip. Room not cleaned prior to occupancy. Manager was informed and expressed sincere apologies. Bought us dinner to make up.

It was just terrible,filthy dirty, the shared toilets and showers were really bad and there was a very strange smell. The beds were unbelievable, the mattress totally worn and the pillows burst.The sheets and pillow cases were thread bare, and looked like they hadn't been changed. It was About 4 am when we arrived at the Hotel and I had to cover the pillow with my own towel to lay my head down. It was another day before I noticed the rest of the bed. I complained to the manager and he up-graded us to a better room. It was the worst place I ever stayed

a bit sultry in the corridor

Stay in room with own bathroom. Excellent location. Bus right outside as well as major shopping centre. Brekky included. Nothing flash but good enough. Overall excellent value for money.

Good central location and easy to find. Near shops, food, and the esplanade.

Staff were unfriendly and the whole hotel looked like it needed a massive refurb- it was old, shabby and out of date, especially the toilets and showers. If you are on a budget this might be ok- but there are probably better hotels for only slightly more money.

We wanted some cutlery so we rang the reception if we could get them by ourselves (cause we stay at the back of the hallway), the reception staff said okay and we went down to the restaurant and the female young staff in the restaurant were rude and charged us two dollars for two forks, ridiculous.

the first room we where allocated i couldnt beleave that the hotel felt it was acceptable. I have a picture if you wish to see it. I would have rather slept in the car

Very good localisation in the center of the city. Low price, clean room with fridge. Good choice for visit city. I recommend hotel

Liked the close proximity to shops, the Esplanade, bus services out the front door, restaurants

Breakfast could have been a little more than just cereal, bread & condiments. Perhaps some fruit?

I really enjoyed paying 7$ for 2 hours of crappy internet! It was awesome!! I recommend this hotel to anyone that still sends postcards back home!! You'll love it! :)

If the internet is going to work so badly, and its going to be so expensive they need to increase their postcards selection!

When they did not service the room, had to go to the desk to get towels. When checking out, I said we were not coming back in two days for a last night before leaving Cairns. They have billed me for $75 as a no show. I asked to see the manager but was informed the staff were hired by another company. It was dirty, unserviced and unaccountable. I intend to show this operation to be unworthy.
