Central Cairns, easy access to shops retaurants and all town centre and sea front facilities, Reception staff always helpful. TV reception poor. Rooms could have some coat hooks on the wall provided for dressing gown hanging especially, with a complementary pair of hooks in the bathroom. It is better if there is free interent in the room as wireless or cable to be online with other. You can include this in the room fee without saying that. |

Easy access to Cairns either on bus or by walking. Breakfast more than expected. No view as frosted windows. Would recommend for overnight stay or business. |

Extremely noisy between 10 pm and about 11 pm, sounded like someone moving furniture.On enquiring at reception next morning receptionist knew nothing about it and didn't seem to care. He mentioned that he worked 6.00 am to 3.00 pm and anything outside these times wasn't his problem. Broken downpipes outside our room (109) very noisy during rain. |

It is very conveniently located - right in the middle of Cairns. Friendly and helpful staff. The only problem was the tv reception. The abc station was not available and some others were not clear. |

I stayed at Hides hotel in September 2007 and was thoroughly delighted with the room and service whilst I was there, but this time ...... my husband and I booked in at 8pm on a saturday evening for a 5 day stay and as we opened the door to our room (which was very cramped) we were hit with a wall of noise from the street below. We spoke to the receptionist who moved us to another room on the other side of the hotel but it wasnt any better and if we managed two hours sleep that night we were lucky. We checked out the following morning and for just another $19 per night we were able to find a one bed apartment with sitting room, fully fitted kitchen and laundry and over looking the water. We were very disappointed with Hides. |

Convenience, staff friendliness, downtown location, price value, range of people staying there (age wise) The bathrooms were never cleaned the 4 days we were there. There was mold growing on the shower walls. I could avoid that, but it still was not pleasant. Location and staff made up for that. |

An ideal location, and a unique style. Cockroaches in the bedroom and the shaired showers were dirty with tiles of the wall. The fans only had one speed, very fast. |

Location, staff, relaxed, informal, convenient to everything - buses, taxis and booking day trips etc. Breakfast was simple but good. The rate was excellent. |
