The staff were very friendly and helpful. Top marks. Clean room with nice old furniture.
For hours the noise of the hot water cistern being filled was really annoying. You couldn't adjust the temp on the air-conditioner, which was locked at 23 degrees. There was no separate light to the toilet, so you had to turn on the main room light. Wifi was not free, and with so many cheaper hotels now giving free wifi is a severe negative in today's day and age. Also, I initially booked the corporate single suite and then upgraded to the heritage suite because there was a deal for the same price, yet was booked into the corporate single suite. I didn't mention it because I thought that I had made the mistake but after checking my emails it wasn't my error.
Staff very helpful & accommodating . Easy walking distance to Salamanca Markets & Mures Restaurant
The location was very handy for the city and also Salamanca Square and the harbour
The room was furnished with beautiful antique style furniture but the comfort was lacking. The couch was lumpy, the pillows were hard and the bed creaked everytime you moved. The reception was only open for limited hours during the day with no sign of a bell to call someone. There was a beautiful chaise lounge on the upstairs hall landing but it was very shabby looking and covered in stains, which was a real shame. Private parking was advertised but with no mention of the limited spaces available in the hotel car park, so we were parked on the busy main street for 3 out of the 4 nights of our stay. After the glowing reviews on TA and Bookings.com, we were more than a little disappointed.
had a great sleep
woke up to late for breakfast thought it could have gone on a little longer
Older style hotel with large rooms.
Carparking was very handy, also for tall vehicles. Car parking is limited by number. Tall & XXL size rooms. Comfortable furniture. Best location in town. Friendly & helpful host.
Previous customers given this hotel operation sometimes a bad review - because previous customers DID NOT co-operate with the car parking instructions - and caused problems. Since this is damaging the hotel's reputation, the hotel has cut down the number of carparking spaces to eliminate such problems ENTIRELY CAUSED BY NON CARING CUSTOMERS. Would everyone please act responsible and stick to their promises and we can improve quality for everyone.
Room & facilities appropriate to expectations of loved heritage building.
Parking on site a bit challenging No evening meal option
Quiet, Warm once aircon kicked in.
Parking - late for appointment after being hemmed in. Got parking ticket out front at 5.20pm. Hotel means a licenced bar to me really should be classified as elegant bed and breakfast. Tiny room and TV.
Great location, quiet and full of character.
Great Location Size and comfort of Room
location location - lovely room -
The staff were friendly and obliging.
The hours for serving breakfast were far too limited. For example, it wouldn't be possible to be picked up for a tour with an early morning start and to have breakfast beforehand. The establishment does not employ a chef. The mattress was of poor quality. It is located on a very busy street and has limited parking available.
The location was excellent
To call this a "hotel" is completely misleading. A hotel should have at least a guest lounge and a bar, probably also a restaurant. This place is a B & B - all it provides is a bedroom, and access to a breakfast room. The cost of $300 a night for this seems to us excessive. The room itself was quite large, but dark - the windows were 2 or 3 metres above floor level, impossible to reach, and heavily curtained.
The location and warm plesent welcome of the management.
The car parking is an area for could be improved and the locked door policy for a smoker is a little prohibitive. Maybe this is also a good point.
The friendly helpful staff; the security of the building.
Off street car parking was limited but there was a system to allow ease of coming and going.
Centrally located. My second time here--I feel safe.
Parking and information regarding the parking is poor. Not enough off street parking.
Location and the character of the place.
The bedding needs updating. Lumpy bed and the pillows are old.
Easy stroll to Salamanca, Federation Hall and the waterfront. Loved the room (and particularly the electric blanket) and the fact that the staff were willing to navigate the tight carpark for me.
No laundry onsite.
Poor quality coffee in room
staff was friendly and tried to be helpful
central, but extremely noisy dark room, hardly any light through window furniture is not victorian or edwards style, it is cheap fake room was not clean room was run down expensive try one of the b&bs at battery field instead, much more style for same price
Location that is all.
No value for money.
A very well located and appointed hotel
The staff were very friendly & helpful. I particularly liked the use of their luggage lift facility. The room was exceptionally nice, the 4 poster bed was very comfortable and the shower room was large and well lit.
Limited parking was somewhat awkward, although the staff managed to shuffle the cars around to alleviate the problem.
