nice big room comfortable beds
free wifi would have been good
Walking distance to everything . Staff helpful & friendly. Lovely and clean.
Close to harbor and shops.
For some reason our room was never made up after our first night's stay. We had the please make up our room sign on the door and were gone from the room til evening. Seemed strange.
An old fashioned, cosy hotel, situated in the CBD and 5 min walking distance from the harbor and its tourist attractions. nice hosts that help whenever they can. Parking is easy and safe (gate closed in the night). As long as you ask for a quiet room away from Macquarie street, you will be fine.
Rooms are great
Old world charm in the entrance and dining area.
A whole wall in our room looked out onto a corridoor. We had to keep the blinds shut for privacy however it resulted in the room being too dark. There was a lack of windows. The furniture was not sufficient for the room size. The room clearly was not designed to be a bedroom originally but had been converted to one.
Walking distance to Salamanca market , generous room
Close to traffic noise. Premium price
We wanted to have a "girls" weekend and wanted to be close to the markets, very helpful in ensuring our stay was just great
Cannot think of anything off hand
The heritage building and decor was a major plus as was the location within walking distance of most attractions. Would be happy to stay there again.
It is an old building so there were lots of creaks and gurgles.
Easy walking to restaurants and bars.
Carting my bag up a flight of stairs. having my bathroom in my bedroom.
Very friendly staff and no-nonsense procedures were good. The location was very handy to the city.
The facilities in the single corporate were bare minimum for rating.
10 min walk from harbour/Salamanca/shops/cinema. Friendly, helpful manager.
Location was brilliant
Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Loved the decor especially the four poster bed. This hotel is so central, easy walking to the city or the waterfront!
We could have done with more hanging and storage space. Free wifi would also be a good idea most places we stay in have this now.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Top marks. Clean room with nice old furniture.
For hours the noise of the hot water cistern being filled was really annoying. You couldn't adjust the temp on the air-conditioner, which was locked at 23 degrees. There was no separate light to the toilet, so you had to turn on the main room light. Wifi was not free, and with so many cheaper hotels now giving free wifi is a severe negative in today's day and age. Also, I initially booked the corporate single suite and then upgraded to the heritage suite because there was a deal for the same price, yet was booked into the corporate single suite. I didn't mention it because I thought that I had made the mistake but after checking my emails it wasn't my error.
Staff very helpful & accommodating . Easy walking distance to Salamanca Markets & Mures Restaurant
The location was very handy for the city and also Salamanca Square and the harbour
The room was furnished with beautiful antique style furniture but the comfort was lacking. The couch was lumpy, the pillows were hard and the bed creaked everytime you moved. The reception was only open for limited hours during the day with no sign of a bell to call someone. There was a beautiful chaise lounge on the upstairs hall landing but it was very shabby looking and covered in stains, which was a real shame. Private parking was advertised but with no mention of the limited spaces available in the hotel car park, so we were parked on the busy main street for 3 out of the 4 nights of our stay. After the glowing reviews on TA and Bookings.com, we were more than a little disappointed.
had a great sleep
woke up to late for breakfast thought it could have gone on a little longer
Older style hotel with large rooms.
Carparking was very handy, also for tall vehicles. Car parking is limited by number. Tall & XXL size rooms. Comfortable furniture. Best location in town. Friendly & helpful host.
Previous customers given this hotel operation sometimes a bad review - because previous customers DID NOT co-operate with the car parking instructions - and caused problems. Since this is damaging the hotel's reputation, the hotel has cut down the number of carparking spaces to eliminate such problems ENTIRELY CAUSED BY NON CARING CUSTOMERS. Would everyone please act responsible and stick to their promises and we can improve quality for everyone.
Room & facilities appropriate to expectations of loved heritage building.
Parking on site a bit challenging No evening meal option
Quiet, Warm once aircon kicked in.
Parking - late for appointment after being hemmed in. Got parking ticket out front at 5.20pm. Hotel means a licenced bar to me really should be classified as elegant bed and breakfast. Tiny room and TV.
Great location, quiet and full of character.
Great Location Size and comfort of Room
location location - lovely room -
