눉The staff. The guy running it is really friendly. But the owners, an elderly couple, they have no sense of how to communicate with clients. I extended my stay, and as I was confirming it, the owner was like, "Are you gonna pay? And he repeated this like 3 times. Of course I was going to pay, this isn't some magic land where everything is free. But he just seemed surly and annoyed. I was confirming details and in mind I was like, "Jeez, can you just wait, are you that bad in social skills that you have to badger your clients?"
I did not get a good vibe from them. My advice, if you don't want to deal with people, why own a hostel? If you don't wanna smile and be nice, then just stay home and do some other job. You're in the hospitality business, and I am willing to pay a little extra, and get better service elsewhere.
I think they need a reality check. And the woman-owner, she just has no clue what is going on and just gives orders around. Woman, take a chill pill. Maybe with a drink.
눇I liked the location, and it was very easy to walk around, there are shops nearby and it's literally one block away from the Bus Depot Station, where you can take a coach to all the cities/towns in Hobart. The place is sorta like a hostel, though not. It has a great functioning kitchen, extremely spacious, it's very clean and very cosy.
I stayed in a private room with an ensuite bathroom/shower and it was clean, and had every thing I needed. It was very warm, and that was my main concern, since it was winter and all.
