Superb city skyline views if you book a city view room. Great location next door to elevator entry at KingsCross station. Close to great breakfast cafes of Elizabeth Bay , Paddington. Overall staying in this neighbourhood is a colourful suburban / urban experience. An escape from the city centre, but only 1 or 2 train stops @ $3.60 from downtown. Some people would be put off by the seedy side of Darlinghurst Rd. Over 15 years of visiting and staying around this area, I have never found it a problem. If you had a room facing the service lane, the view would not be good.

Location Staff are ignorant, pompous & felt like I am dealing with a 3 year old who spat his dummy. The double charged for the room by charging two credit cards and refunding the funds to the incorrect card. Booked a twin share room that comprised of 1 & 1/2 beds unlike the photos on Bookings.com of 2 beds. All in all I would prefer to stay in a flea infested pack packers than to stay there again. I requested to speak to a manager on multiple occasions and have not been answered yet.

good location close to CBD without being in and many eating options NOISE! despite request for a quiet room the nearby nightclub was loud enough to be kept awake by the "duff duff" at 4 in the morning. In fact it seemed to get louder then.

Adjacent to Kings Cross station (although required a walk to main attractions). Frequent minibus service to airport. Courtyard area. Free internet access for 20 minutes a day. Spacious bedroom. Pleasant restaurant for breakfast and good choice of food. Not an attractive part of the city and wouldn't be convenient for anyone not prepared to walk a bit to see the main attractions.

The location is convenient being in King Cross where all the nightlife (mainly young people night life) is Australia is very expensive and this hotel follows this line: in uae for the same amount of money I have a 5 stars hotel with breakfast, internet and excellent services included.

I loved the proximity to public transport. The bed was comfortable, staff extremely pleasant and it was perfect for the couple of days we visited Sydney. We felt perfectly safe although we were close to Kings Cross No complaints at all

Breakfast was GREAT. Room/bed was clean and comfortable. Regular rate is over-priced. With a good deal, it is very worthwhile. (like ~ 1/2 price)

The front desk staff were fabulous - quick professional checkin fro a very nice young man that we regret that we didnt get his name. We were early and expected to house our luggage and that would have been fine but at 10:30 our room was ready. Without asking he gave us late check out, top floor and a free upgrade to a harbour view room. The view of the harbour, harbour bridge and Opera House were fabulous - Easy to commute to city as Kings Cross station only a 20 meter walk - busses also very close. A varoiety of eateries + Coles across the road. Breakfast had a relaxed an nice outlook. Two stations to Town Hall a quick change to Circular Key which is anothe 2 stations - Easy to get to Bondi as well via Bondi Junction. Buffet breakfast was adquate but hot food was luke warm. Egg station only offered on weekend. Monday breakfast very poor. Several guests expected and asked for eggs to be cooked eg ommlette etc but were rudely refused. The scrambled eggs offered were almost liquid and unappertising , baked beans were cold for the second morning in a row. Although Sundays breakfast chef was lovely - he cooked a great vegetarian ommlette. Kings Cross as expected is seady after 8:30pm but as long as you use the hotel for bed and light breakfast and commmute to Circular Key etc through the day it is a great budget choice.

I have never stayed at a Holiday Inn infact I hardly ever stay anywhere as I hardly ever travel. Due to my son being ill he was in St Vincent's Hospital c/o the Navy . As it turned out his operation was cancelled so my trip to Sydney was not what it was supposed to be. However I just loved the comfort of the Holiday Inn and one could just come and go as one pleased. I enjoyed the gym and also the lovely food for breakfast etc. I found the experience expensive but then as I am not a regular traveller I am not up on pricing. Being at Potts Point I was able to walk everywhere I needed to also transport was at the front door if I needed it. I loved my stay and will I hope return one day for an even more relaxed stay. Thank you Holiday Inn. The only trouble I had that was all of nothing was when I booked in and out. My wife has the credit card and I booked online for the room. I had to show identification of the credit card on arrival , so okay a phone call and an email later all was done. But on leaving on Monday 19th November I was asked once again for proof of the credit card. Now I was told this had all been okayed and the email was logged .However the young chap booking me out found no reference to this fact so another phone call and email to my wife in Queensland. This I thought was someone not doing their job correctly come a small lack of communication. Otherwise no complaints at all.
