Bed was super comfy! Lovely (pregnant) lady who checked me in was super - professional yet friendly and clearly very competent.

I ordered room service but both dishes ordered were missing an item included in their menu descriptions. Not a major however still not great service in that regard. Valet car parking a helpful feature however on day of departure I was standing on the kerb waiting for the car to be brought round for nearly 30mins. Thought that was poor particularly for a business traveler as I was then late for my day's appointments from the get go - clearly wherever the car was parked was quite a distance from the hotel.

I was impressed with the staff who served me including trainees - all very friendly and helpful.

There was a light that was not working which I needed to do my work in the room. As a frequent traveller I am a little less tolerant to things that don't work. However, staff did give me a room where all the lights worked.

Handy location

Twice asked the cost of the room for the following night & twice staff said they would ring back. I had to book via booking.com to guarantee my following night stay. The weekend was busy. Plus I had to wait 25 minutes for my car which had been parked out the back. It was there but no one told me.

I like the fact that Holiday Inn gives us that very important flexibility to bring our children along and enjoy as a family without worrying about the additional cost for the kids! This is so great! The hotel was clean and staffs were courteous. Dane served us and he was great!

Please have a look at the mattresses. They are so soft that if we had spent any longer there, we would end up having a backache and lack of sleep.

We loved the view from the rooftop while laying next to the pool. Could see the whole of Townsville from 20 stories up. Even from our 16th floor balcony we were wowed by how nice it was

Had to pay a twenty dollar upgrade as my booked room was not ready at 1.50pm. Then had to move rooms as the ac did not work in the upgraded room. Did not have the wine that my partner enjoys(which is quite common) in the restaurant. Would not stay here again to be honest!

Location - very central

Lack of Bedding - I do not like duvets and there was no sheets. I had ot lower the room temp by several degrees to sleep. The room had 2 single beds so you couldn't open one of hte cupbaord doors. I won't be returning, very dissappointed.

The location and convenience.

I chose the Holiday Inn because of its ideal location right in the centre of Townsville and just a few minutes away from the main "eat street". But I loved the friendliness of staff at reception and how eager they were to help at all times!

A new (a real) coffee machine for breakfast would be greatly appreciated.

Loved the location, the staff were excellent and found the room to be very comfortable for my teenage son and myself. Liked the 2 double beds in the room. Buffet breakfast included in the rate was great and it was fantastic.

No free parking whatsoever - adjacent paid street parking is for only 2 hours maximum during the day (9am to 5pm) and the hotel charges $12 per day No notice of this at time of booking. Hotel entry is very confusing when arriving by car - nowhere to stop and inadequate signage. Filthy, dusty windows made it difficult to see the view. Mini bar was emptied "as a courtesy" - whatever that means. No jug or cold water in fridge. Shape and size of sink made it very difficult to fill a water bottle. Hotel info booklet fell apart when picked up.

It had a well presented disable room suitable for wheelchairs

Only thing we could fault was there is no secure car parking, you have to either park in the street or a public car park down the road. It's hard to manage a wheelchair and luggage if you parked down in the public car park, and if on the street your car is unsecure.
