Staff exceptional, porters, fronts staff all went out of their way to be extra helpful. Nice jazz band when we arrived on Friday evening. Fabulous bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good desk. Central location. Restaurant in the middle seems noisy like a cafeteria and smelled of cooked fish. Yuck! Seemed really cheap. Also - $29 a day for wifi access is just rude and old fashioned.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the rooms are always spotless, it is always quiet and very comfortable, room service was quick and delicious, They had to ask at reception if I was a gold passport holder, the room was too hot and then airless when a/c was switched off, the balcony door did not open, breakfast is over-priced

The hotel is beautiful and the surrounding scenery also. Everything was very clean and comfortable and the staff at reception were excellent. We dined at the restaurant and were very disappointed by the service. The food was excellent but the service was extremely poor, especially considering how much it costs to stay and eat there. The staff were not attentive; we had to call them over to top up our water and take our orders and then they didn't know the menu when asked questions and finally when dessert arrived it was wrong so we didn't eat it and nobody took accountability of the situation and apologised. It was very disorganised even though there were plenty of staff on and few people dining (a Tuesday night). Even when we called the staff over to take our order they prioritised finishing cleaning up adjacent tables before attending to us. This was especially disappointing as we have a baby and this was a one-off opportunity to have a night out together without our baby and it left us feeling annoyed!

Park Hyatt is well located for major attractions along King's Terrace and close to many fine restaurants. Also located close to Parliament House. It is quiet, the staff are friendly and heplful. A pleasant experience all round.

All of the above and: the courtyards, the ambiance, the archecture, decor, the thought that you could just bump into Poirot, (hopefully not a murder!), relaxation, room service, porters etc etc. We enjoyed the stay - can you tell?! The menus were a little restricted for vegetarians and non-existant for vegans. We were, however, able to 'cherry pick' from other choices, but it would be great if more specialised options were readily available.

Great architecture, interior design, art work on walls, large rooms and lovely bathroom and shower. Great venue, close to lake, easy meeting place to see friends. The staff in the resturants were good, but outside staff weren't Check in! Did not have booking, waited 2 hours to get one room, 3 hours to get second room, hours to get cot, someone else's luggage in 2nd room. Ordered two glasses of Moët, and it wasn't! Mucked up dinner booking location. Reception staff were of a very poor standard.

Location was good Rude staff, no value for money after paying for club room. Newspapers not delivered, no cooked breakfast, canapés poor quality. Noise in room 262 , loud water noise woke us on many occasions. Confusing to get to rooms, no help in getting directions to rooms.

The Park Hyatt is the best hotel in Canberra -but is probably the most expensive! It is ideal for conservative people who appreciate the Art Deco design the history - and easy proximity to key attractions (old Parliament House, national gallery, portrait gallery). Cannot think of anything. It is expensive to eat and drink there, but you know that will be the case anyway! It would be nice to be able to order a simple sandwich for lunch other than heavier meals on offer. But that's nit picking!

I especially like the Art Deco look of the hotel. The room we were in was very quiet and the bed very comfortable, also room very well serviced by the pleasant staff. We particularly liked where the hotel was situated, just across the road from a beautiful Japanese garden, very pleasant to walk through down to the lake. Breakfast was a little chaotic, not up to 5 star standard, maybe that was because the hotel was full. On a few occasions we had to ask two times for our tea and coffee and one time left because it did not show up at all. However we would like to mention we were very impressed by an older gentleman (dark hair) at breakfast who was very professional.

Staff were excellent. We thought the Hotel was looking very "Tired" we stayed in Room 8, whilst the room was just OK, the hallways etc., looked quite neglected and as I said "very tired" , for this reason we wouldn't stay their again.

We returned to celebrate our eighteenth wedding anniversary and booked our accommodation at the Hyatt through Bookings.com Eventually after sitting in the wrong room for an hour, we were moved to room 013 (original booking) and from then found the service and facilities to be what we experienced on our original honeymoon. Room Service staff, staff on the phone, the receptionist on duty, the porter who moved us and the food quality were all EXCELLENT ! ! Our booking through Booking.com was incorrectly entered by staff at the Hyatt resulting in us getting the wrong room initially. Photos on the web site are not necessarily reflective of your actual room. My special request for a single yellow rose was not read and staff could only find a white rose to place in room 013 for when we were moved to the correct style room. We used the express checkout facility on departure and have just found that we have been charged twice for our stay.

Staff were very friendly & keen to please. Overall look & feel of hotel is nice. Good location. Not high level. Good food particularly steaks. The hotel needs to decide who it wants to attract. The facilities ( pool, change rooms etc) are badly in need of renovation. We normally have a swim at 6pm. 6 children of around 10 Y.O. were "bombing" the pool so we walked out. Other older patrons also came in for a swim, turned around and walked out as the noise & splash was too much. Suggest under 18s strictly are allowed in between 10 am & 4 pm only. TVs in rooms need to be upgraded & DVDs added. Beers need to be served colder. Time taken to serve beverages & meals is too long. Needs to be within 4 minutes. We waited 16 minutes for ordered drinks in the lounge area.
