Location Room was clean Bed confortable
Room was too old and run down for the price. Windows would not close properly. Noisy neighbours ( Rhin Walls)
The comfort, location, close to Southern Cross station. I was upgraded on arrival because of a bad experience I had around Chrismas time last year which goes to show they take your comments on board. I will always go to this hotel when travelling through Melbourne as it is close to southern cross so you can connect with other trains, and air port buses.
The noise from the road
One block away from Southern Cross St, I was able to leave my bag in storage before and after check in/out with no charge. Great for getting trams/trains around Melbourne. Very friendly and efficient staff.
the rooms were a bit 'unfinished' in places, but the price of the room was reasonably low for Melbourne so I was happy.
Very relaxing - Quiet and comfortable. Easygoing and helpful staff. Great location.
Nightclub next door downstairs was too noisy - Was a Saturday night after all.
Size of the room.
Nothing in particular.
Room was clean
When we first arrived we wanted to know about parking. We were told that they usually have parking at southern cross station but the cards were not working. The staff told us they would call us when they worked it out ( not sure what we were supposed to do with the car until then). We found our own parking. I also asked if they had gluten free bread to which the women at reception replied yes and if they don't then we will get it for you. At breakfast we were told no they did not have gluten free bread and seemed confused that reception would say that they did. The restaurant only had one staff member working and he was flustered and run off his feet. We ordered breakfast with no bread and no hash browns as my family are coeliacs. The meal came out with bread etc. We sent it back and suprise suprise it came straight back minus the bread. Obviously we could not be sure that the meal had not been contaminated by gluten. It was very disappointing. The room only had one frosted window above head height so it felt very dark and dingy. We paid over $220 for this room and as an accor member I have to say this is an overpriced hotel with poor service.
Near to Southern X Station
Very basic accommodation with a sliding door to the toilet where the door was not held firmly.
No dvd player or any source of entertainment
Location, location. Free continental breakfast, helpful staff, bonus late checkout.
We think there needs to be better quality pillows,
Clean tidy and comfortable room close to city centre. Good value for money
No parking close so either paying a lot for parking station or meters then carrying luggage to hotel
Had a lovely clean bathroom & bed. The location was excellent.
The room itself was small & it could have had microwave for convince.
Location to Southern Cross Station for early flight out of Melb
The noise from the night club - ALL NIGHT I was awake - would never stay there again!! Frozen milk in the fridge..... Rooms very dull!!
Good location with friendly staffs
Very clean and tidy, comfortable bed, few min walk to Southern Cross Station & 10/15 min to Bourke St mall
Noise throughout the night was very sleep disruptive for 2 out of 3 nights- strange banging & crashing that seemed to be within the building, bit of pub noise, small rooms but luckily my friend & I ended up with adjoining rooms which was a good amount of space each.
Price and location
Excellent location, walking distance to South Gate, South Wharf, Casino & city centre. Not luxury but great value for money! Bacon & eggs should be part of the inclusive breakfast menu tho.
The overall experience
The check out line in the morning and only one person at the desk
- In lazy walking distance of local shopping and food businesses - Prime location, right on the beach - Friendly family atmosphere - In house restaurant does an unreal breakfast buffet. - In house massage parlor is very good - The staff were very friendly and accommodating - Pool/Sauna/Spa facilities were good - Sports equipment and bikes available upon request - Quiet nights meant quality sleep was enjoyed
- The in house services and accommodation are a bit expensive, but for the location and everything I mentioned in the "pros" section, it's to be expected. - The dinner menu at the restaurant is somewhat limited
The staff were excellent. Polite and very helpful. The location made it very easy for transfers to and from the airport. Plenty of places to eat nearby. A great place to set up a base for a holiday.
The smokers. The smell of smoke wafted in the rooms from people smoking on the balconies. Cigarette smoke is very intrusive. I would recommend making the hotel a non smoking building.
Location and price
Lack of rom service which was included in price
Pillow like concrete
Hot water was good. Staff were lovely. Very close to Southern Cross station and trams. Handy for the Aquarium. Really that's all I can say that was good. Oh - it was cheap. But you get what you pay for.
No face washers or bedside lights. No spare toilet roll left for us (we came perilously close to running out). The hotel was terribly over-heated. We had to push one bed across the room to get away from a wall that was hot to touch (had a radiator on the other side of it that was turned up very high). Was horrendously noisy on Fri and Sat night, both from the young people partying in the room next door, and from the nightclub down the road. Too noisy to sleep. Awful awful place.
During my stay the adjoining room was smashing doors past midnight which woke me n my family up so many times!! Called reception n the snacking decreased but didn't subsidise! It was still on !!
Noise (little soundproofing so noise from guests in nearby rooms and music from nearby alleyway)
