The size of the rooms, the cleanliness of the rooms, the amount we paid for the room, the stairs in the entry were difficult with a pram. Our booking wasn't confirmed and then needed rearranging. The hot water was in and out and the shower head wouldn't stay up.
Location, easy access to Skybus and train station.
The room at ground floor was noisy. Free Wi-fi was not available in the rooms.
A little noisy
The room was very small and when you opened the door it touched the bed. In the bathroom you couldn't, lift the toilet seat fully as it hit the toilet roll so the toilet roll had to sit on the floor,
The room was like a pokey basement room, just one light in the main room, no bedside lamps. Fridge was full of rust as was ceiling. Shower dripped all night.
We loved the size of our room and the bathroom. It was updated older style but we enjoyed the enormity of space - especially the bathroom. The room was very quiet despite the fact it fronted King Street and maybe we didn't have any neighbours, but very peaceful. Would definitely stay again.
My 80 year old mother was with us and was perplexed that she didn't have a bikkie to have with her cup of tea! A bedside lamp would have been a treat as the six year old would not settle with the room lights on.
Fantastic location, staff were really friendly and helpful, and the French restaurant next door was amazing
No hot water for a shower and wifi doesn't extend i to rooms
The car parking and the paid Internet
Convenient location, very clean room, very friendly staff
I do like to have a window to look out of and unfortunately our room didn't have one. I survived OK but would request a room with a window next time.
The room was of adequate size, but the noise was unbearable! There was some kind of a compressor running at ungodly hours and did not seem to stop for the duration of our stay. This lead to us being exhausted by the time we left the hotel. The view was also something I am glad they did not use as a selling point for this hotel. Overlooking the fire escape and back of house of the hotel is not something to be excited about. The cleaning staff were also not too keen on cleaning. The carpets were dirty and they did not even replace our dirty coffee cups the next day. The rates were affordable, but I think that the basics need some attention. Once again, you get what you pay for...maybe a bit less...
Chose this Hotel because it was within walking distance from the train station and reviews were good, it was clean, beds comfortable, staff very nice.
Didn't like that the Street Hotel is on was full of mens clubs and this was not highlighted on the Website, had I knew this I might have booked a different hotel as we had our 12yr old daughter with us.
the bathroom was great! and the bed was super comfy.
the pillows could have been a bit more comfortable but it was fine for a one night stay.
For what we paid, I can't complain about the room its self.
The noise is absolutely terrible, music, and yelling until about 4am. Very sleepless night.
Great walking distance to where we needed to go. Trams in close proximity to explore the city! Friendly, helpful staff! Definitely consider staying here again.
The room was quite stuffy. The air conditioning unit didn't work. Blowing warm air.
Location was great and staff excellent.
There was no bedside lamp and no evening meal in the dining room.
Staff made us feel welcome. We stayed on the 5th floor in a superior room which was clean and well equipped. The full english breakfast was included in our room rate and we looked forward to that each morning giving us the required boost to keep up with Melbourne city life. Can walk to shops and the free trams helped us get around easily.
The only thing I can point out is that you need to leave your room and go to Level 1 Lounge to use the free WiFi.
It was reasonably clean, however no shampoos conditioner hair dryer etc
The staff were very helpful and very polite, particularly when my 3 year old decided to show how loud he can go!
The lack of access, having a pram and luggage to go up and down stairs was not great and only once was offered help from staff.
Not well maintained, peeling paint, not very clean, stained carpet. We stayed in Ibis styles in Indonesia and the hotel was modern, with fun decor. This one is just old and needs a makeover. No parking, no free wifi.
Close to Southern Cross station. Great staff - reception and cleaning staff.
Ancient windows looked ready to fall out any minute - couldn't block out noise from clubs on Friday and Saturday evenings till 5am
Was upgraded to a queen room free of charge with no issues at allafter making a complaint about previous room
Staff didn't ensure room was properly cleaned before we arrived.
Situation of hotels, staff and very comfortable will come again
Window is too tiny. Felt a bit suffocated.
Age and colour of inside of hotel
Great location. Near railway stations of Melbourne. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. This is a good clean hotel
Air conditioner was like a truck running in the room. Had to turn it off and then got hot. Ironing board was bad.
