bathroom was very dirty.
bathroom was dirty and lots of trash under my bed.
It's perfect location. Really close to Southern Cross station (connection to both airports), and to city center. People working there are friendly and helpful. Clean.
Showers require little maintenance (1st floor). It was pretty tricky to make water running.
room had not been cleaned by our checkin time & the cleader just walked in, not even knocking
I like the location. Very good, near Southern Cross railway station and the inner city of melbourne. After 11 it is also quite in the rooms, which makes sleeping easier.
Too many persons in a room! And not much space. That makes some of the cleaniness and comfort go down. Also the bathrooms, when someone next to you washes, you also get wet.Their price is cheap though, so that balances it.
This place was exactly what I needed and wanted. The location was really fantastic, a couple of minutes walk from the Southern Cross Station, surrounded by cafes and little restaurants. The staff were very friendly. I kept sleeping past free breakfast, and I wasn't there for the free pasta night, but those options sounded very nice. I had a double private room on the 4th floor and was very happy. Actually, I found the bed and blankets very comfy, and even though I didn't need it, there was a lot of space in the closet for belongings, and adequate bench space as well. I also appreciated being able to leave my bags in storage after check out. When I return to Melbourne, I will definitely return to stay here.
I like the location of the backpacker, the room is big enough. The bathroom is big enough and convinent.
On Saturday night, the enviroment is quite annoying.
The location of the hostel is great, it's just 5 min from Southern Cross and within CBD you can do everything by walking. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the bathrooms are clean.
Our room was not very clean and the wifi just works in the reception area.
Very close to everything. Was fairly clean.
'Private' three bedroom room was not private, it just had a divider separating it from a dorm room.
Easy to check in and out
The staff had my Room double booked so when I was in bed twice people unlocked my door.. Wasn't very happy
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Common area is good for making friends. The location is great as it's probably the closest hostel to Southern Cross Station.
There's no lift. People with heavy luggage might find it struggle. All facilities in this hostel is pretty old. The cleanness of rooms and bathrooms can be improved. And it's very loud during the weekends as there's a night club right next to it.
I love the location of this place
Comfort of the bed Friendly staff Free breakfast on certain days
WiFi is not accessible when you are in the rooms. Very dirty and smelly bathrooms. The kitchen was appalling in terms of cleanliness.
With all discomforts, I loved the stay here. Everyone known, unknown they stay like a family, the staff especially Denise, ( ip man from Belgium ) is just great. All the staff make life so interesting. You think like you belong to this place since ages. and the lady, who makes free pancakes for all on Sunday morning...God bless her...she does that for EVERYONE in the building...She is justa quiet angel..
The WIFI works only on ground floor, there is no lift. So, you have to lift your luggage to the floor you get room on. Passages are stuffy, not much ventilation. The toilets need to be better.
Good location, staff were good, quite clean and good price but . . .
the other occupants of my four bed dorm came in very late, very drunk and very loudly, turned on the light, waking me up and spent some time talking with the light on and finally went to sleep leaving the light on. I'd rather pay more money and get a better night's sleep.
location is good for travel via train. staff is nice and helpful.
the noise is all night long! party noise, garbage car noise. etc.. woke up several time and can not sleep well.
worst hotel ever¡¡ the dirtiest one as well
dirty bathrooms, disgusting¡¡
the friendly atmospher, super helpful staff, cozy beds
The staff were INCREDIBLY helpful and always available. The free breakfast was a great addition as well - especially the Sunday morning pancakes!
The bathrooms could use some more regular cleaning.
Friendly staff, nice living space, soft couches etc for when I arrived.
Possibly could improve by telling me how many people are also booked into the room when I arrive? I was awoken to a person coming home at 3 am and had a slight fright hearing the door open.
Im just like. Can met so many ppl here.. became friends with each other..
Staff were nice
This hostel is the nearest to the Sourhern Cross Station. The staff are so friendly. There are always people in the lobby chatting and playing. It is a very friendly place, just as Melbourne itself!
