The excellent restoration of this magnificent Victorian building shows how clever and considerate are the owners. They have incorporated luxury comfort without losing the features of the building, and the modern extension to the property blends seamlessly. Throughout the place are cosy reading nooks and a marvellous and eclectic selection of fabulous books, art and memorabilia, placed always to enhance the sense of design. The owners are warm and friendly and add to the overall sense of welcome and serenity. The weekend continental breakfast was excellent. Overall we felt a sense of calm in this lovely place.

I was thrilled that the begonias in the botanic gardens were still in full bloom ( mid April) . I was moved by the exhibit on the Eureka Stockage. I was impressed with the large number of elegant historic buildings in the city.

Ballarat has much to offer all ages.
Ballarat has much to offer all ages. Plenty for young children, teenagers, young adults and older adults. It has many good places to eat, all reasonably priced, from coffee shops, up market restaurants and good pub bistro food. Ballarat is easy to get around, just use google maps or your navcam

A wonderful city with history, family experiences and a great lake surrounded by trees, play equipment and restaurants. Lots of experiences for families to enjoy especially the Eureka Discovery Centre , Sovereign Hill settlement and the Aura night show, Art Museum and Avenue of Honour. The city also has excellent restaurants and hotels to choose from for families or couples.

Very historic town and still retains lots of its original architecture.
I did run out of things to do so did travel to Daylesford for one day.
Otherwise, it is a nice place to visit, more than once, and does offer some lovely tourist spots.
I was in Ballarat for business and had a dinner engagement in the CBD so chose the hotel for its close proximity to the restaurant and the warm feel generated by its website.
I was a little taken aback by the car park which was the only aspect of the property I had any concerns with. Some people arriving later in the evening may have found the car park a challenge in the dark.
The reception was excellent and all of the facilities were first class.
It is in the black book for a return visit.
this is a perfect B & B for a small family with a large Queen in one room and single beds in the other - Small but efficient kitchen with everything you could want. Brekky provisions included quality bread, bacon & eggs. Mary Anne and Richard made us both very welcome. Stunning old home in a leafy street with shaded parking. The unit is at the front of the private house at the back. Ridiculously cheap tariff for this place - I couldn't believe the value for money.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location has a great view and it's pretty cool to be able to stay in a castle! Even though the castle was closed when we visited we were allowed to look around and visit the friendly sheep and goat for pats. The cost to stay here was cheap and a great option as something a bit different from a hotel. The room was very comfortable and had everything you need for a short stay.
The check in process was easy with clear and regular communication from the Hotel team, even though we arrived late into the evening.
Extra special that we had after hours access to the grounds, on top of the admission to the theme park when it opened the following day. That was worth the room rate alone!
Room was spacious, with plenty of bench space and storage and a fridge is always a bonus.
Newly built, spacious and great location! Opposite is a fantastic restaurant which makes it easy for dinner option. Lovely Hampton’s style decor with modern appliances. The bathroom was a luxury escape, the heat lamp helped with warming the floor tiles on a cold night. Great air-conditioner/heater. Netflix in the room was a bonus.
The hotel grounds were nicely upkept with a lovely duckpond and rose bushes. Smooth and easy check-in and check-out process, with friendly and efficient front desk staff. Large, accessible courtyard rooms with comfortable beds and individual parking bays that felt private, homey and relaxing. Good location in Ballarat.
Great room; quiet; spa was excellent; bed very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel for short or longer stays. have booked again for this coming Friday and need to do some business in Ballarat on Saturday
Excellent value for money. Large room with comfortable couch, well appointed kitchen, spa bath and shower..... all for $125 on a Friday night. I haven't seen value like this since pre 2019. And outside the hotel entrance is a fabulous pub .
Large family accomodation, Quite location, warm rooms, comfortable bedding, great kitchen, loads of free activities for the whole family. Great family destination close to Ballarat central and Sovereign Hills. Friendly and helpful staff.
A very neat we'll presented house with everything you would need for a weekend away.
So close to Sovereign Hill and supermarkets.
We would definitely stay here again when in Ballarat.
Great that it's dog friendly too.
House at no. 10 is a fabulous gem right in the centre of Ballarat town. It was meticulously clean and very thoughtfully appointed for guests. We stayed for one night only and wished we could have stayed longer!
Good size, location & facilities. I come up weekly for work & looking to find an affordable option. Good transition from hotels to moving up, felt more like living in Ballarat with a kitchen & living room.
Great location, nearby to the station, and nearby to a fabulous small hotel for meals, a drink, and watch the Matildas beat France. Sad that the Matildas lost to England in the semi final last night.
Beautiful heritage property which has been restored and upgraded. Room was cosily warm - important in Ballarat! Free parking in the centre of town . Coffee shop & restaurant in the hotel.
Spacious, handy kitchen for some simple family meals. Fresh towels/clean bins after our first night ( only stayed for 2 nights, most motels we stayed in didn't bother to check)
