The room was incredibly noisy from the road noise. Apart from the cars, trucks and people could hear the beeping from the crossing!! and we were on the 3rd floor. The hotel needs to invest in double glazing for windows. Also pool was in the dark and dingy basement and was dirty. Will not recommend this hotel to anybody because of the 2 points above .... especially the road noise.

Beds were super comfy especially for my husband who suffers with a bad back (from a serious car accident in yr 2000) he said it has to be the best hotel for comfort he has ever stayed at (and we travel alot for leisure) The staff were super helpful, I didnt have to pay for parking like it stated in the email (off site parking provided) I didnt feel like it was too much or too less it had what we needed the shops were in close so we were able to buy 1.5litre drinks and leave in the fridge for that urgent drink, if you have small kids I would suggest getting a room with a kitchenette but our son is 11yrs so it was no biggy we ate out ever night, there were a few bit and pieces that needed fixing or look like it shouldnt be there (visible) but it didnt bother us one bit, there was alot of construction going around (area getting a revamp) we had continental breakfast (part of our room price) in the downstairs restaurant, they were super lovely had made that start to our day happy and refreshing considering the weather was 39+ temp for the 4days we were there, I would deffinately stay there again when I next travel to townsville!!!! My family didnt like the noise at 5am from the construction workers but I didnt hear a thing hahahaha

Staff are wonderful. I was able to check in earlier than the normally scheduled check -in time and staff were understanding and extended my check-out time. the location is best because this hotel is centrally located in the cbd of Townsville. The breakfast mentioned on the booking is not real. The fact that it's also a serve-yourself breakfast makes late-comers a little sceptic about the sanitation of the food. It would ideal to both customers and the hotel to knock a few dollars off and mention no breakfast; or just put a couple $ up and use the bistro downstairs.

Room Decor The fact that there is no off street parking provided. You have to pay for your parking on the street. Not good enough.

Clean, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast great and as it was part of the room price, it offered excellent value for money. Would definately stay again if returning to Townsville. Markets on Sunday were a real surprise. There was enough lighting but the globes used meant that I was unable to read at night This may sound petty but when I arrived I had not had lunch and I looked forward to a cup of coffee and a packet of biscuits, unfortunately there were no biscuits for me to indulge in, but no biggie

Room interior updated, big spacious room, good central location, low price, quiet place. Breakfast was disgusting. The bread was growing mold. ALL the dishes were dirty! There was a cockroach in our bathroom. Windows were very dirty, difficult to see through. Overall hotel is old. Paint is dripping off from the walls and corridors are dusty.. There were not many other customers.

Obtained very little sleep as our allocated room 312, was beside the old rickety noisy elevator which seems to be used continuously most of the night by other guests.

Friendly staff and received an upgrade to one of the newly refurbished rooms. Very comfortable bed and great pillow! Soap and Shampoo dispenser was a good idea to save waste. Breakfast bar used small cereal sealed sachets for optimum freshness rather than in container that often is stale. No underneath secure parking available only street.

1, No provision of parking and then out of way at a cost 2. Shower is difficult to maintain a temperature and water pressure low. 3. TV difficult to initially operate. 4. At conference air conditioning too cold at formal dinner. 5. Breakfast hot dishes difficult to get a standard type of breakfast. 6. Overpriced at $125 a single should be more like $100. 7. Although hotel has been dressed up getting old. 8 Bathroom too small. 9.No advice ubtil booked that surcharge to credit cards. 10. Shower gel receptable-became empty and was difficult to operate.

The hotel was awful. Dingy. It was mouldy and wet smelling in foyer, lifts, hallways and rooms. Paint was peeling off walls, the room had very bad street noise, taps were cracked in bathroom. Was the worst place i have ever stayed.

From entering the smelly lift we should have been prepared for the rest of the motel however I was shocked when we left the lift to find badly stained carpet in the halls, then tried to open our door which was badly in need of repair so enable easier access in and out of room. Once door was open we saw shabby carpet, cracks in the walls that a child could put their hand into, paint smears on walls where holes or something must have been fixed, the bed had spring mattress that must be as old as I am and the springs dug into hips all night, No parking meant we had to continually pay a meter on the street during the day and we could only pray it wasn't broken into. Horrible, horrible place, I would suggest to Bookings.com that you delete this motel off your books, its a disgrace.

Friendliness, Shampoo Shower head stimulated the body Bed most comfortable Breakfast, although there was a bit of a crowd that saturday morning and the continental breakfast area ie fruit and toasted sandwich ingredients were a bit sparse. I have stayed before when it was not so busy.

All staff were courtious and friendly . Staff were very helpful in arranging breakfast for family member early as she had to fast for scan from 0630. Breakfast doesn't start till 0700. This is second time we have stayed at Chiffley Plaza and we recommend it to family and friends who are going to Townsville. Position is great only one block from Cowboys and city centre. Only complaint is no parking on site.
