Check in staff member was very efficient, recommended a close venue for dinner late at night and was super friendly.
Wasn't there long enough to find a fault.
The hotel is very central to Townsville's CBD. Room was comfortable and clean.Well priced. Friendly staff.
Fairly noisy at times, though I can't say it was the hotel's fault.
The staff were very good, price and room was good
Ugly building and bleak view
Location was good with great cafés nearby
Place is tired but works for the money I paid.
The room we stayed in had a lovely view. The beds were comfortable. The staff were helpful.
The lifts appeared pretty old.The shampoo dispenser didn't work and there was no shower gel. It is my pref err enceinte yo have that over soap.
Bed and pillows were comfy
Fridge didn't work very well, no on site parking, bed linen appeared stained
Awesome friendly service and my room was nice and clean everyday.
Parking was a nightmare, unles you knew to book a park, I had to walk in the dark up to 2 blocks some nights.
Air Conditioning in the room, bed very comfortable and room was very clean. Staff were excellent couldn't have been more helpful.
No fan in bathroom
Closeness to bus stops just outside. Closeness to main street, dining, and other tourist spots.
The bathroom tap dripped for 7 days, requiring considerable effprt to minimise dripping sound. TV kept pixelating everyday for 20mins after turned on, until warmed up then picture was okay until pixelating re-started. Painting and construction smell near the front desk was strong and off-putting. Fridge cupboard needs ventilating (left ajar) to make bar-fridge work efficiently.
We did not appreciate the mouldy and rotting cabinetry in our three rooms that caused a unbearable smell throughout the rooms. We were a group of three couples in three adjoining rooms and the three rooms were all of equally poor standard. I think these rooms should not be offered for future bookings until they are renovated as they are a health issue for anyone with asthma or similar health problems. We all had to leave the windows open in the rooms which lead to a very poor nights sleep due to the passing traffic and nightclub patrons. I have photos that I am happy to email to show the standard of the rooms. Kym Kirkwood.
Very friendly staff
We did like the location of the hotel, the clean and comfy room with all amenities, nice view from the window and friendly staff.
smokers near the entrance
breakfast was good
The hotel dining room is no longer open for dinner, the swimming pool/spa area is not maintained, needs to be refurbished; located in a sparsely populated area, closest eatery is a few blocks walk
It is located on a busy intersection and the rooms are extremely noisey, you can hear every car that goes by.
Good value & location.
Still noisy & unable to ooen window for fresh air
Pleasant and friendly staff.
Staff particularly Sharni very friendly and helpful with information etc. the room was comfortable and the hotel central for our day to day activities
The bathroom sink and down the front of sink wasn't cleaned properly, it had drip marks from previous users.
Great Staff Excellent Customer Service. Location location especially for night clubs, coffee shop on the corner. Pubs & Cinema close by quick walk to the strand, Sat Markets and a few shops just round the corner.
The chifley is currently under renovations. Was not advised this at the time of stay & No parking.
Warm welcome at check in. The cleanest rooms. comfortable beds
The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The price was good. Position great. Staff were friendly. We did enjoyed our stay. It was obvious maintenance was being done. When the work is complete it would be most pleasing.
The flush on the toilet kept running, in order to stop it we had to play with the button. Ceiling was mouldy, and the room needed a lick of paint.Car parking was a disadvantage and what was offered was not pleasing. Complementary biscuits would have been nice.
Location and friendly staff.
It took 2 days to obtain resolution in regards a leaking toilet. Car parking left a lot to be desired.
The staff were so amazing and helpfull will definitely be going back!!
Rooms were clean & well presented, serviced daily, staff were friendly & helpful, close proximity to centre of Townsville & Strand, good info re things to see& do in Townsville.
We were placed on Stanley Street room which was very loud & noisy due to renovations & traffic noise. Upon checkout we were advised to ask for a room on the inner side next time. Parking needs to be booked otherwise street parking, where your car needs to be moved by 8-9am & then parking meters during day 8-5pm. Thankfully no damage to car, close to Police station
Close to shops, restaurants and bus.
Cost of hotel at V8 week-end. Bookings.com also charged $300 per night for 5 nights where the hotel only doubled price for the 3 race days.
