Initially, our GoogleMap navigation led us astray and recent roadworks at the head of Gill Rd had physically changed the landscape.
We are a middle-aged couple with 2 grown-up sons, one of whom is studying Architecture at RMIT in Melbourne. Feeling young-at-heart, we decided to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary by booking the 2 honeymoon suites. We took the Sapphire Room which we thought had a more private view while the boys were happy to have their own space in the Emerald and bonded over many rounds of Billiards downstairs during our brief 2-night stay.
To our delight, there was a vintage upright piano as well, which wasn't mentioned before. We only wished we had brought our favourite songsheets as there was only a limited selection available on-site.
The thermal springwater-fed pool & jacuzzi were better than advertised. At 27 and 37 degrees respectively, it was neither too cold to swim in nor too hot for a heavenly soak & massage.
We made the most of the kitchen facilities available & continental breakfast for us was enough. After all, the Queenscliff town centre was just 5 minutes' drive away with a great choice of restaurants, take-aways and Foodworks.
Claire & Michael, who hosted us from reception till check-out, were ever-gracious and accommodating. They really made us feel at home, knowing that any request for help was just a phone-call away.
