Very clean and although the room was small it had everything I needed. I was also next door to the bathroom which was most convenient .

Bus stop was a couple of blocks away and the last bus was too early for me to catch.

Stuffs are friendly.

The internet isn't free. One of shower room doesn't offer a enough-hot water

The staff were helpful. The roomcontained most things we needed. It was clean. Good location.

There was just one thin pillow for each of us, having a few spare pillows would be helpful. Recarpeting would lift the tone of the room considerably.

Rude recepition person , attitude totally wrong for hospitality ,I asked for the Manager and he was even rude about that , after paying he told us not to come back , much more to the story but you wont do anything .

The location was great and de staff very helpul and friendly.

Sometimes de share bathrooms, needs some extra clean.

I stayed in Macleay Lodge for 18 nights, so I guess my opinion on the place can be pretty thorough and objective. We had a premium double room located on the last floor of the building with window on the side of the backyard, which was an advantage, as we didn’t hear any noises from the street. The room seemed exactly the size from the description (14 sq metres if I remember well) with all the facilities it was supposed to have (sink, fridge, microwave and toaster). There was a large double bed, a table with 2 chairs and a small wardrobe. There wasn’t that much storage space, so we put our things everywhere, but I guess this is not a concern for people on shorter stays. Also, I have to admit the room was very hot, as the sun shone on the rooftop for the whole day and in the evenings the room got very hot. There were two fans, but I guess during summertime (January) it could get very hard to stay inside. We were there from 25 February-15 March, so it was ok, but still hot. As far as the cleanliness is concerned, they don’t provide cleaning services every day in rooms, but as we were on a longer stay they cleaned our room every week, changed linen and towels, so it was perfectly fine. We were a bit worried about shared bathrooms, but they turned out to be no problem. They were always clean and since there are a few of them in the building you will always find an available one. Actually, during these 18 days I guess I only had to use other bathroom that “ours” maybe 3 or 4 times, so no problem at all. As for the services provided at the reception I was also very impressed. We asked the receptionist (Fabiola if I remember well the name) to book us 2 tours from a brochure.

This hotel is in a nice neighborhood, Potts Point. But to get to this part of Potts Point, you need to get through the seedy part of Kings Cross. There are quite a few nice restaurant and bars nearby (some open 24 hours). The single room is small and very tight and the shared bathroom is all right. Though I think about au$70 per night for a small room like this is pricey, consider how expensive Sydney is, this place is actually quite budget-friendly. I guess you just get what you pay for.

We arrived at the lodge only to be charged an extra $10, the room was unclean and the bed was dipping in the middle. There was dirt on the floor was right next to an aircon unit. The bathroom floods and so you have to stand and wash in dirty water, it was also full with hair on the drain. I have rated t cleaner hostels that have been better value for money.

The size of the room, the bed, showers were dirty and it smelled of smoke.

The location was great and an easy walk to wherever I needed to go. It felt very safe and secure and was clean and tidy. As my first stop in Sydney before moving into a hostel it was perfect.

The room was a little smaller than I had expected from the photos, but otherwise I have no complaints.

Very friendly staff who could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended for travellers who are on a budget.

This hotel represents incredible value for money, considering that it's only a few minutes' walk from Woolloomooloo bay and close to all other Sydney sights too! Don't hire a car - just walk! Also, staff very informative and helpful. Cheapest way from airport is 400 bus to Bondi Junction and then short train ride to Kings Cross (5 minute walk to hotel).

The room was small and the bed was tiny. When booking it did not say that we would have a shared bathroom but when we got there we found out it was, which would have changed my decision to book there - this was false advertising. The window in the room looked out to a small space which contained some sort of boiler or machinery which was noisy all the time so the window could not be open. As well as this, the carpet in the room was damp and smelly. I did not sleep well and woke up feeling ill both mornings. We stayed for 2 nights and the day we left I felt really unwell and had to sleep all day (once back home) and couldn't eat anything. I am sure that sleeping in this room made me ill, probably from the damp and the stuffiness of the room. I would not recommend this hotel to other people.

Really nice room with good facilities for preparing food to take out for the day. Comfortable bed. Great part of town with good local feel and really close to the domain and nsw gallery, walking distance to the ferries.

Very poor light due to eco bulbs. No recycling.

Fantastic location close to the botanical gardens with views of the opera house and harbour bridge. Ideal for short stays in Sydney city. Staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Our room was one of the cheapest so it was quite small. It had a damp smell and was a bit dingy, it didn't have much light as our window directly faced an outside wall.

Lovely greeting from staff when we arrived after a long haul flight also very helpfull with info and directions, would recommend to other people.
