Having previously stayed at Magic Mountain I am pleased to say that the apartments are still very spacious, very good kitchen appliances, and the swimming pools are still fantastic. Additionally, the reception staff were very polite and helpful and the local area still has many good restaurants and reasonable transport links.

Nevertheless, there has been a clear decline in the cleanliness and upkeep of the apartments since my last visit in 2006/07 and I found this somewhat suprising given the nighly room cost exceeding $200. While we could have reported our observations at the time we did not because they could not have been remedied without us vacating the apartment. Anyway, neither bedroom ceiling fan could be used in our apartment as they were both filthy and damaged. The lounge blinds would not open fully and reception on both TV's was poor. The kitchen island had been encased in metal sheets presumably as a short term measure rather than be fully repaired, and the 2nd bedroom had not been fully cleaned. Additionally, wireless internet was very expensive and carried a weak signal. If standards were to improve or the prices were to drop I would consider going back again, but as it stands better value for money is available elsewhere in the local area.

We enjoyed the views and the pools the most and the privacy of the self contained appartments. Magic mountain is not too far from surfers paradise but is also far enough away that we could enjoy peace and tranquility. Over all it was the best location that accommodated our family of seven (from our 3 year old son to our 78 year old mother and a couple of teens) all age groups were comfortable.

The only thing, and it is a minor one, was that we had some very dirty cutlery in the drawer and our kettle was black and we had to scrub it before we could use it.

Really liked the location and the facilities and design. The unit was fairly dated and small amounts of repair were required in the unit. Otherwise a very comfortable unit and tidy unit. Would definitely stay again.

I had a lovely rom with a great sea view on one side and a balcony looking down on to the lagoon on the other side. There was plenty of room for everyone.

It might be time for a refurbishment, but overall was very happy with everything
