Excellent restaurant and bar service
Just a little expensive for one night
Excellent staff Very clean. Great location for park and concert.
We stayed in the suite and the balcony was tiny and there was no outside table and chairs to enjoy. Bit too pricy for the higher end rooms as they are limited in terms of what they offer
The uniqueness of the property and that it was not a large hotel. The gardens were glorious and a joy to wander around.
Room was great, bed nice and comfy. Some staff were very nice Gardens were very well kept. Pool room was great. Pool and spa area was average
Breakfast was not that good, some of the staff were not helpful, the pool wasn't that clean, value for money wasn't there
Room size very small
all staff were nice, close to rose garden and nice grounds to walk
not enough staff, no calls answered, all services went through front desk and they were too busy to answer the phone for housekeeping or room service orders. Tennis courts not maintained and key given by front desk couldn't unlock the gates. Pool dirty, with tiles around the edge not being cleaned, strong chlorine smell. All movies unavailable. No room service breakfast menu available, asked front desk and they grabbed from another room. Food quality in Josephs not worth the price, and service slow due to lack of staff, the same for breakfast. Day spa treatments good but a little pricey.
The room was small, but well appointed with an en suite. The shower was large and plenty of hot water (we were on the 3rd floor). The food was of excellent quality and ample. The staff were most helpful.
The resturant was not large enough to cater for a full house on Sunday morning, we had to take food on plates, back to our room. Most unpleasant.
The grounds and property are a real treat, well worth a visit.
Disappointingly problems were addressed with bad communication within the staff
Second time staying at werribee mansion but yet several visits to the historical mansions. We indulge and relax with amenities (especially pool), gardens and general quality of the hotel. It is the most splendid hotel. Service is impeccable and Joseph's restaurant has the most amazing food!
We only had one night there.
the pool and spa
Beautiful grounds and building
Staff were helpful, polite and very quick to respond to any issues. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Loved the grounds and the history.
No overhead lights in the rooms, only bedside lights and a lamp on the bench. Swimming pool was a little scary at night, and I didn't like the lack of security on the Ladies Amenties in the swimming pool area. It felt very unsafe at night when no-one was around with all the windows and doors able to be opened from the outside - anyone from outside could just walk in. Very Scary!
The Beds are amazing. With Feather Pillow toppers feels like heaven. Room service food was lovely.
Cooling was stuck on 17 degress, Reception came to try and rectify but couldn't fix so a blow heater was given. Possibly should off been offered to move rooms.
The Mansion is not far from Melbourne. Set in a scenic and quiet location. The hotel was excellent and the grounds beautiful. Great for a relaxing, romantic weekend away! Highly recommend!
The standard room was a little small. Had to pay extra for the small things.
The grounds and rooms are amazing. Could add radio to rooms and upgrade to modern tv but minor suggestions. Breakfast staff were curt.
Breakfast staff, needs modern tv and a small radio would be great advantage.
Bed was comfy, food in Josephs for dinner was lovely.
Have stayed here before when Sofitel group owned and staff were a lot more on the ball. Facilities are looking tired, especially pool area. Superior room was lacklustre to say the least and needed a good clean. Biggest dissapointment was the restaurant staff for dinner, 25 mins to clear dishes between courses and no questions about fresh drinks. Breakfast was grossly overpriced for the quality on offer. Ambience & atmosphere needs a serious overhaul with particular attention to staff attitudes towards guests. Ask guests name don't keep guessing.
a warm welcome on arrival. friendly staff in the bar and a gorgeous surprise for mine and a friends birthday dinner that night in Josephs restaurant !!!
the bed wasn't very comfortable
The staff, in particular Cedric and Jacqueline, were professional and friendly. Room service was swift. The grounds are very scenic. The hotel is far enough off the main road that it is quiet and peaceful. Ideal for people without small children.
The only thing I did not really like was the access road. It was gravel, and dusty. However, it was in keeping with the surrounds (the hotel is adjacent to a zoo). Perhaps a separate access road would improve access to the hotel.
Loved the staff, especially Cedrick, so polite, friendly and accommodating. The rooms were lovely. We did a tour of the mansion and stepped back in time, it was simply breathtaking. The gardens are amazing and loved the lake and grotto. The sculpture walk was fun and we enjoyed reading all the historical notes on the buildings around the estate. Sadly we did not go in rose season, we will be back to see the garden in full bloom.
I think it was just us, but we found the signage into the hotel was a bit confusing, we ended up at the wrong gate and then couldnt be sure where the reception area was. The only other thing was, this is a lovely upscale accommodation and I am a big china cup fan - would have liked to see a nicer cup for tea in the room (very small complaint, and again, just my personal taste).
The ambience, comfort, dinner, breakfast, friendly staff. We enjoyed the fact that the size of the rooms hadn't been altered since the hotel was a seminary. The height of the widows and the stained glass are interesting features. Directions to. The hotel are good and parking was easy.
Beautiful setting. Great time at the spa. Enjoyed Joseph's restaurant. All the staff were great
The staff were very obliging, friendly and helpful. The location, gardens and surrounds were amazing. The breakfast was great. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked.
The bed corners are sharp - we bumped into them a few times, probably because the room was quite small as well. Our TV volume didn't work. The bathroom door was very hard to open and close - may need some lubricant. The pool area, including stairs in the pool are extremely slippery. We saw several people and children almost fall. May be a good idea to check these maintenance issues.
The hotel is very grand and the reception staff are world class. Great swimming pool and grounds. Very close to the zoo and rose gardens.
The room was very small for what you paid for and we had the superior room; we walked past the basic rooms and you literally couldn't swing a cat The restraurant was one of the least appealing and organised restaurants I've been to. They forgot good multiple times, blamed it on being busy when there was nobody there and took no responsibility for customers waiting 1-2 hous for basic bar food. We waited 1.3 hours for a cheese plate that never came. The prices are also far too much for what they serve yet you are stuck in the hotel as Werribee isn't the nicest place to eat if you're there for a luxury weekend. The mini bar wasn't restocked during our stay either.
Everything was amazing
Needed a bigger tv
The service was exceptional, Christine made us feel special. The Salt and Pepper squid was cooked to perfection.
The fact the television service didnt work, the shower screen was dirty, and cobwebs in the corner of the room and an obvious hair on the side of the bath.
