Great location, good view, nice place.
Glasses were dirty, fans stopped working half way through the night, aircon was hardly felt.
Right next to the Ferry terminal. Clean.
The see-thru bathroom right in the middle that people coming in on the Ferry can see into. Hopeless TV / FoxTel set up.
Apartment was spotless, neighbour (maintenance man) was so friendly bless him. The view was exceptional!

I loved the apartments, I thought it was a beautiful location and a very modern style.
As for the customer service, it was disgusting, paying customers regardless of age do not appreciate being spoken to so rudely especially when it was so unnecessary, approaching the reception to pay for the accommodation not realising that it had already come out of my bank account when it clearly states nothing will be taken out of my account until the day of check in was incredibly disappointing, being told to "just wait a second" with such a rude manner was very insulting, over all experience rate about a 3/10 would not recommend the grand mercure magnetic island to anyone and would be very surprised at myself if I ever return to the apartments.

The sea view from the living room and master bedroom
Few things were broken but as pros when we told the reception, they fixed them the same day even on a Saturday.
Modern design. Very clean. Everything you need on hand.
Easy to hear/see other apartments. Open bathroom in the middle of the apartment, can't have visitors and use bathroom at the same time.
We liked the convenient location next to the marina and ferry. Also, trialling the different pools was fun. Really appreciated the view our balcony.
We didn't like the lack of privacy with the bathroom and also stepping out of the bath after a shower back down to the floor was quite tricky.
No value for money. Mecure is happy to charge top rate prices but not happy to provide value for money. There was smelly undies left behind in both sides of the bedside tables!! The previous months Foxtel guide had not even been updated to the new month. All the fittings and furniture was either rusty, stained or just old. The fridge light did not work. The next door neighbours dog kept barking. The receptionist seemed unprofessional as we entered there was not a friendly greeting she tells us she is in the middle of banking and seemed unable to locate our booking. A man not sure who knocked on our door to retrieve the smelly underwear that was left behind without so much as an apology or explanation. For $320 I would never stay at this place again.
location and size of unit and the view from balcony.
there was a sailing weekend on and the complex gave a party which was above our unit. With young children the band finished at 10.30 pm which was acceptable but then the language and noise after this was not acceptable. The female manager said that Mercure had no say in what they did as she was the franchaisee and it was no good complaining to them which i thought was a bit strange. All that was required was a note before hand explaining what was going to happen that night and for someone to keep the guests under control.
The view and the potential to be fantastic

We were not told that the phone was not connected Tap in bathroom needed attention. A daily service would have been welcome - even a minor service.

The view and the bed
No dishwashing liquid or sponges in kitchen. Very basic kitchen supplies. Carpet all torn and loose threads. Just needed maintenance for the price we pay
I got a phone call after making my booking online the lady said ' I need to organise some ferry tickets for you' which gave me the impression she was doing it as a gesture but when I arrive they say to me ' you now owe $106 for ferry tickets' she should have worded it better and maybe said ' would you like us to organise ferry tickets or you organise them?' Because I ended up paying for the whole party then Having to collect money off them for ferry tickets when they could have simply purchased their own.
The view from our room was great (but this cost extra)
- only 2 towels were provided for our 2-week stay (we received 2 fresh towels after 10 days) - If you want to get to beaches you either need a car or be prepared to walk 2-3 km each way - The apartment wasn't very clean
The staff and owner were so wonderful and caring, even lending us their own personal backgammon board. I honestly feel in love, the grounds are beautiful, views to die for and so close to everything you could possibly need. They even have alcohol (nice oyster bay wines) to buy straight from reception to sit by the pool over looking the ocean and relax.
Lived the location and outlook.
The room we stayed in had a TV in the master that wasn't connected. The ice machine in the fridge didn't work. Otherwise very enjoyable.
Quality of the apartment
Apartment was described as having a sea view, which it did, but only just, though a gap between two other apartment blocks, but nevertheless extremely nice and we would recommend.
Only had to pay $150 p/night, would have been very disappointed if I had of paid more
Staff were poorly trained and not very helpful, cleaniness of the rooms were ok but the reception and pool area on our building was quite dirty. We also had to leave a $100 deposit that we didn't get back for two weeks even tho we left the room clean
The appartment was spacious, well equipped with great view of the ocean. Beds very comfortable. The repairs' man was excellent. Cable TV. Swimming pools.
Office staff not particularly efficient or friendly. No help with heavy luggage. Balconies of most appartments get little winter sun.
