Great ambience . Had every thing one would want. convenient luxury room. Great continental breakfast much variety and well presented. Staff were friendly. Pool even cool after a hot day out. Gardens attractive and cool for relaxing. Would stay again if in Broome.

We stayed at Pinctada Cable Beach as McAlpine was closed. Public areas nicely manicured, staff friendly and helpful, quiet, close to beach and bars.

Pool music and that is about. Outdoor area in 102 cold hav been a touch larger. OherwisE great. We will be back.

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I knew the trip and stay in Broome would be difficult, as I had the daunting task to take my brother back home for burial and also sort out his home and personal details. It was lovely to be able to come back to my room, have a drink and relax outside - gather my strength and thoughts before I continued on this journey for my brother. I am so thankful that my wife Lorna booked me into the Pearler Verandah room for seven days. It was the best place I could have had chosen for me. The breakfasts were so delicious and it set me up for the morning. Thank you to all the staff who helped me through the week.

I cannot find any fault in my stay at Pinctada McAlpine House. I would like to mention that on your web site you advertise that breakfast is included in the price and this is not the case. This did not worry me as I still had to have the delicious breakfast that was being served.

Everything - the rooms were amazing all the furniture around the hotel was really nice and there was no disturbances.

Nothing - wish I could have stayed longer

The tropical oasis in the middle of a very busy town; very quiet & peaceful stay.

The only thing would be very noisy pet birds very early in the morning; not a huge problem unless you want a sleep in.

Only stayed one night but immediately felt relaxed. Whole 24 hrs was excellent

McAlpine House is a an older building constructed of corrugated iron, as are most buildings in Broome, with wooden plank floors. It is quaint, in a picturesque setting, with quite tropical gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful, though reception is only open until 3pm. It retains an image and feeling of yesteryear, and is not too far to walk to the main town area (about 20mins, or taxi $10) and to some of the other venues. There is a simple pool and comfortable lounge. The room was adequate, and the bathroom newer and quite acceptable. We hired a scooter to get around Broome, and the hotel provided free parking behind security gates.

As McAlpine House is an older building of simple construction, the walls are paper thin and noise is an issue - especially the old squeaky floorboards. Though this was only a significant issue on one night with others passing and congregating near our room. As a bed and breakfast venue, I would not recommend the breakfast to anyone. It is more than sparse and the sight of masses of flies sucking fruit through the flymesh was most off-putting. Staff only operate at the venue until 3pm each day.

A really nice laid back atmosphere with classy old style heritage rooms. They have an unreal tree canopy over their outdoor decking as well.

The historic house has been lovingly restored and this made for a vry special experience. A lovely indulgent mini-stay.

Everything was beautifully presented, however we felt the breakfast was a little on the modest side. Even a Continental Breakfast these days will offer some extras, a boiled egg perhaps, or some ham or cheese. However this is a minor consideration and we did enjoy our stay very much and would love to return some day.

Historic old building carefully restored for accomodation in a beautiful setting which is peaceful and quiet and close to the centre of Broome.

Walking distance to sights. If I rented a car this would not haven an issue

The genuine Broome pearling captains experience Corrugated iron walls, red lattice,greenery , library, rare birds, and comfortable outside sitting/ Dining area great. Check in time at 3PM when unattended reception was incongruous.Breakfast OK. Worth staying if based in Broome town rather than Cable Beach.

Ambience of the old house. The position was quiet. Privacy of our accommodation

Cleanliness, The floor of the bathroom had "mop tracks" a sign of a dirty mop.The shower recess was not clean. The towels were old and grey (not white) The room floor was filthy. I had a shower and my feet were dirty before I could get to the bed! The library was very dusty.The floor was again very dirty and the cobwebs were enormous. I could actually write "clean me"on the side table glass. Maintenance.Our friends had a very bad leak in their bathroom from the toilet which pooled in front of the toilet. My friend reported it to the manager on our first morning However on our return she stated that she hadn't called a plumber as she couldn't see a problem! Our friends spent another night with towels all over the bathroom floor before being offered another room for their last night. Service. A tour operator sent a fax to us at the hotel .We were not notified of this. After they resent it, we had to actually ask the manager for it.Not good enough.

Boutique atmosphere. Small . Colonial style graciousness where we felt comfortable to use different areas of the hotel, to read , share drinks with friends etc

Tolles Grundstück und echt schöne Anlage. Für jedem, der auf individuelles Design Wert legt, genau das Richtige. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und in einem tollen Ambiente serviert. Schönes großes Badezimmer und die Zimmer im kolonialen Stil. Die Historie des Hauses ist sehr interessant. Das Faulenzen am Pool ist herrlich.

It has a lovely ambience with the air of a historic house (though quite a bit is the product of relatively recent renovation). The decor imaginatively complements the original house. The spaciousness and access to multiple seating areas (library, verandahs, outdoor areas) etc. make for a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere more like that of a private house than a hotel. Our room was comfortable and private. The breakfasts are substantial and are taken in a shaded outdoor area under tropical foliage. We found it delightful.

We'd have preferred not to have minibar items displayed in the room. Better to provide a list and then tuck them away in the fridge or a cupboard.

Some initial difficulty in contacting reception staff before arrival to arrange airport pickup, but this was sorted out fairly easily. The staff were friendly and helpful.
