We stayed here for 8 nights, then travelled for a few days and returned to the hotel for an additional 2 nights. It was great both times. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and very roomy. The bedroom was a good size, not cramped, and there was a good-sized sitting area with a couch, dining table, and several chairs. The kitchen was well supplied with the basics for cooking and eating. We were in town for a conference and several friends stayed in other hotels nearby - their rooms were all tiny and uncomfortable, and they paid about the same as we did at the Medina. One night we had 7 additional people over for a drink and we were all able to sit and chat very comfortably. The staff was helpful and friendly, provided extra towels quickly when asked, things like that. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the Melbourne Convention/Exhibition Center, and the Flinders Street and Southern Cross train stations. The location couldn’t be better, whether you want access to restaurants, trains to get elsewhere in the city, or if you’re going to a conference at the center. This was a fabulous place to stay if you want comfort and to save some money by cooking a few meals yourself. And the ability to do laundry in your room! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Melbourne, no question. The only irritating thing was having to pay extra for internet, but this seems to be standard in Australia - it's not included anywhere, so I guess we can't really hold it against this hotel. It was $11 an hour, $22 for 24 hours, or $66 for the week. It's also only an ethernet cord (provided in the room). We brought our Apple airport from home so that we could have wireless for all our devices, and just ponied up $66 for the week. It worked out fine.

The location made it easy to find again at the end of a day travelling. It was also within reasonable walking distance from Flinders Street Station, Casino etc We ended up booking here due to lack of options as we made the mstake of booking flights during the tennis open - I would not ordinarily pay $250 per night for accommodation. I believe that this is extremely high and would look for cheaper accomodation on subsequent visits that would better suit my financial position.

Very pleasant staff, cleanliness, comfort especially the beds, ideal kitchen for a small place, at last a room with a practical vanity, location excellent for travel to the tennis and in fact to anywhere. The shower being sited over such a deep bath, and also the shower head which was not user friendly ,as it did not come out far enough from the wall, given the mouldings in the bath. (I am firmly of the belief that most travellers, from 30+ would rather have a large walk-in shower, than one over a bath; the latter are very dangerous. Has a survey ever been done?) The lack of sun blocking curtains in the lounge was not ideal, but given that a large building being constucted next door will before too long block the morning sun, and sadly views across the Yarra,it would be a waste to put some in. during the refurbishing process.

It was quite a nice room, very clean and even though it was in the CBD was quite quiet. The staff were friendly and were able to recommend some nice restaurants. The rooms smelled stuffy, as did the hallways. There was a computer you could pay to use, but it was very slow and I wasn't able to print what I wanted to. The staff however, printed it for me which was nice. I also wish the staff had mentioned the gym and pool, as I went offsite to find a gym!!

The apartment was as described on the web and the photos' were accurate, not like other places I have stayed. Bathroom was large and that certainly was fantastic. The security of the building was excellent and the cleaning staff were very friendly and courteous. I would stay here again if the price was right. My only complaint was although the Television set worked in the living area there was no colour.

Pleasant room Helpfull people The position of the air conditioner with the air flux direct to the face and the chest to the person in bed. No free internet access at least in the lobby. Most hotels in the usa, for example, give free access or even computer for their customers.

Excellent location, with friendly courteous staff. Rooms tastefully decorated and finished to a fairly high standard. Good kitchen and laundry facilities were very handy. Very comfortable bed and despite being so close to the train and trams there was no noise disturbance at all. We were in Melbourne for the Australian Open Tennis and daily draw printouts were at reception every day, tram directly accross the road and grocery shopping within a few hundred metres made it a very convenient location. Southbank, southwharf and the Casino all within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again. Televisions in living and bedrooms need to be updated. Poor reception and picture quality compared with most tv's nowadays. Although the apartment had a full oven and hot plates, there were no oven trays or dishes that could be used in the oven. At least an oven tray and ovenproof dish should be provided for use.

The spacious feel to the apartment with good views. The room was serviced very well & always clean. Although the location was close to the Station we did find the noise of the trains a little disturbing in the mornings. The doona was very heavy for this time of year even with the cool weather that we experienced. Perhaps a lighter blanket could be another option. The staff were always friendly when we were greeted by them.
