the staff we extremely helpful
Everything! Great opportunity to meet people from all over the world!
Spacious kitchen, friendly staff, not too far from the market and the center.
No free wifi, charge for luggage after checking out. Other YHAs provide one day free luggage storage when guests leave. Some rooms has a strange smell.
The basic facility is quite nice, big kitchen and big toilet. Staff are friendly.
Actually its location is not good. It's not in city centre, 5 mins walking from two tram stations. At night it's a little scaring.
As described, and an even better location than we had envisaged. Great location, great value. Would recommend, for sure!
we had no complaints whatsoever.
Please provided: 1. another menu at cafe...Im looking rice or hot noodle but they did not have. ..for Asian people like me...we need eating rice not only bread or sandwich. 2. Medicine staff at bed room...coz I was sick last Saturday night coz the weather.
The reception didn't deliver the message that my husband call from Indonesia. ....he wants to know have I arrived safely at the hotel or not...but the reception didn't tell the called.
I was surprised at how good the facilities were.
Cheap. Perfect, central location. Welcoming staff. Very tidy place.
My own fault, but I wasn't such a fan of walking to the bathroom every time I needed to wash my hands or poor out a bottle of water. ha
Someone was drunk and make noise at early morning. Should be have stuff to stop them to do that.
Love the location. there are so much going on during my stay in Melbourne. The stuff are lovely, cheerful and helpful. In general it is a happy hostel to stay.
This wasn't a rowdy over crowded place. Internal space n layout was very spacious. Was in a nice pleasant suburb, very close to the tram. Just perfect.
Bathroom cleanliness over the weekend was a tad challenging, esp in the male toilets. I understand the lack of cleaners on duty over the weekend, but isn't then, the peak of occupancy during the week ?
Romote location, no free parking, bad sound-proof, noisy roommate, dirty washing room
Nice and clean. Reasonable location to city. Great meal at the restaurant.
Noise of the room doors closing. I think they may need the automatic door shutters, no matter how gently you tried to close them the final close was always very loud and echoed around the halls.
Best communal areas of any hostel I have stayed at.
The bathrooms could do with a refurb, but they aren't terrible.
friendly staff, great atmosphere, brilliant views over the city,
I wanted a quiet location away from Flinders St. and this neighborhood is actually of historical significance. The CDB is easily accessed by tram on Elizabeth St. Staff very helpful at the desk. Large kitchen. large storage locker in the 4-bed room.
The elevator went out of service a few times. I found food at the nearby Victoria Market to be quite $$ but plenty of good coffee houses around that site. Pub restaurants near this hostel are $$.
Purpose built building. Rooftop social area. Big bathrooms.
Lift that was too busy and occasionally broke down/got stuck!
They have some activities and events.
There aren't enough power station in the room.
the YHA is an amzing place for meeting people around the world! especially, in the public living room and the kitchen.
everything needs to pay. no free wifi and the insufficient plugs. in my 8-people-room are only 2 plugs.
The roof tarrace.
Lack of tea spoons and cooking in a rather busy kitchen (especially in the evenings).
The facilities were good. I didn't use the kitchen, but there seemed to be plenty of toilets and showers for everyone, and I never had to wait for a turn.
There was a heat wave in Melbourne when I was there and the hostel is not set up to handle the heat. There was massive window in my room that only opened about a foot. There was one tiny fan mounted on the wall and in a four-bed room there was no possibility that the air would reach all the beds. Basically, the room was an oven and it was next to impossible to sleep.
Friendly staff, willing to help, efficient movements, convenient calling a cab.
- friendly and helpful staff - safe accommodation - storage for my luggage - check-in late was no problem - nice lounge to meet other travelers
- toilets & showers not always clean -kitchen not clean and tidy - card to enter the toilets & showers
