The fireplace was put to great use and the grounds are very well kept and private. Very peaceful and relaxing. We loved the robes that were provided too.

This exclusive B&B retreat is set amongst 3 acres of park-like gardens in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges. These stylish cottages feature open log fires, deep spa baths and a fully equipped kitchen. Moulton Park Cottages are situated only 8 minutes’ walk from the charming village of Sassafras. The Puffing Billy Steam Train is just 4 km away. There are 60 Yarra Valley wineries within an hour’s drive. Each cottage has a four-poster bed, lounge room with CD stereo system, TV and DVDs, plus a private bathroom with heated towel rails and full range of toiletries. Provided by Fortnums in Sassafras, a generous continental breakfast hamper is included for up to 2 days of your stay. Guests can enjoy a game of tennis on the private tennis courts, or relax in the beautiful gardens.

We love the tall trees - the fresh mountain air - the views of Melbourne city lights at night from SkyHigh Mt Dandenong. We love exploring the interesting shops, dining at Coonara Springs or Wild Oak Restaurants. Our most special joy though is the nature, bird song, wild life we see from day to day - we never want to leave!

Property information

Moulton Park is a gracious 3 acre property with a Historic Homestead which is available for up to 6 guests. Luxurious and comfortable bookings here are based on the whole of house being used. In the garden there are two cottages, Keepers Cottage and the Gatehouse Cottage which are perfect just for couples. A stay at Moulton Park can be for the whole property or just for a couple or friends and family. There is a large park like garden, a half tennis court, walking by a back track to Sassafras village is around 10 minutes. The Dandenong Ranges are famous for their natural beauty, parks, gardens and the Villages of Mt Dandenong are filled with delightful shops, cafes and restaurants. Two great nurseries if you are a gardener, a walk in Sherbrooke Forest if you are a hiker - revived by coffee and cake at Shannon Bennett's Piggery Cafe at Burnham Beeches - or in the great cafes scattered across the mountain top. Moulton Park Estate is managed by Valley Ranges Getaways office in Olinda. We look forward to welcoming you for your stay soon.

Neighbourhood information

The Dandenong Ranges are renowned for their delightful villages - Sassafras, Olinda and Mt Dandenong as well as the cool climate gardens and beautiful national parks. Visitors to the area enjoy strolling around the villages with their boutique shops, cafes and hiking through the many wonderful walks in the forests. These energetic pastimes are always followed by a soaking spa and a curl up by the fire with a glass of Yarra Valley wine - you deserve that. Puffing Billy Steam Train is a joy for young and old and their Steam and Cuisine nights and lunches are wonderful. If gardens are you 'thing' then Cloudehill in Olinda is a MUST. The National Rhododendron Gardens in Olinda are 100 acres of beauty. Tesselaars Tulip Festival mid-September to mid-October is wonderful too. The Yarra Valley wineries, Tarrawarra Museum of Modern Art, Chocolaterie at Yarra Glen, Meletos in the Valley, Domaine Chandon - so many things to do and see, you'll want to stay a while!
