Score from 818 reviews Very good
Like it was close to everything I needed.
Decent location. Free tram out the front door. Free Wifi available through Nomads office downstairs.
Bathrooms were so dirty. Kitchen was far from clean and the staff were so miserable when cleaning it. Bed sheets were pretty poor too.
The staff were very friendly & helpful, bed was comfy, location was excellent
MOSQUITOES absolutely everywhere... I kept waking up every hour or so with more bites... Need to put screens on the windows... Super noisy as its on the corner of 2 main streets where the railway line crosses over & a few tram stops. Price of a twin room with shared bathroom was more than some twin rooms with bathroon in nearby budget hotels but they didn't have availability
Leaving , the girls in my room , was close to flinders street and southern street station could walk anywhere you wanted to go .
It was dirty , there was no lights in the hostel which attracted hundreds of Mosquitos , not enough shower facilities people always waiting , can't drink in the communal areas , tv room too small only enough for about 15 people. Tram noise all night . Fan was hopeless rooms were always baking hot. Everyone I spoke to in my hostel agreed worst hostel they stayed at . Plus very expensive
Toilet spoil,room smelly,
Friendly staff, loads going on.
Very hot in the rooms, needed another fan.
The location was the best thing about this accommodation
It was a very hot evening and the fan in my room was not working and the kitchen was a mess. I would not stay there again.
friendly helpful staff
dirty, no maintenance for bathrooms (air con) extremely loud on street side (south)
The reception staff was very friendly and helpful
The Kitchen could be better in facilities and cleanliness. The location is very loud. No screens at the window so bugs at night.
Handy location on Spencer street. Unfortunately trams weren't running the weekend I stayed, but still easy walking distance to others. Rooms are a good size. Staff friendly and helpful.
Long walk to Toilets and Bathrooms and hard to find without getting directions. Very noisy and lots of light if bed is by the windows. Didn't realise no pillow provided with the room, so had to build one out of clothes.
The centrality of its positioning within Melbourne as it was close to all top locations, including the train station.
the bathroom facilities weren't very good. The beds were quite a bare minimum standard, although this is expected for a backpackers.
room and toilets completely untidy too noisy during the night, the train station is really next door poor furniture, no maintenance
It's just a regular stay. You use it just to go to sleep. Could be a little bit cleaner
The location was awesome.
The window didn't stay open.
Spider's everywhere , stuff wasn't cleaning room probably,Laundry way to expansive .
comfortable neds,free pasta,rice and tea
dirty kitchen, too much party (it was around Christmas though)
This place was right next to 2 tram stations and only a short walk to the Southern Cross train station. You can get anywhere easily from this location.
Nothing bad worth mentioning. I had a pleasant time there. The unisex bathrooms was a bit odd at first though.
The kitchen always planty durty staff nobody check it. the internet is 4 dollars per hour!!! And sometimes doesnt work.just is in the cbd.
The location is good, that's about it.
The building looks and smells like it's about to collapse, I'm surprised it's still standing. The swipe cards for the rooms never work, there are so many rules it looks like you're back on a field trip with school. Rooms are dirty, showers are bad, staff has no idea what they are doing. The kitchen is poorly equipped, and dirty. The hostel is very, very noise. So don't go there if you plan on sleeping.
The location is good, close to Southern Cross station.
It was just dirty, especially the kitchen. There is only one shower for each floor. No air-condition in the hostel.
Stayed in 2 different dorms over a 3 night stay; firstly location is great next to Southern Cross station and 7/11 close by, staff friendly but some a bit sarcastic and chatting to mates whilst queues of people wanting to check in formed, movie room, laundry all available and nice comfy bed.
First dorm we stayed in was a mess! Clothes everywhere, used dinner plates, pizza boxes and bottles, it was like someone's university hall! Then people proceeded to roll in at 4am kicking bottles and falling over waking the whole room up. Staff need to enforce cleanliness rules, the hostel I am in now has someone come in everyday and check. Also kitchen was very smelly and too overcrowded, needs bigger facilities or a sign out system with cutlery. Fix this and it will be an amazing place to stay
Almost perfect, except the fan in the room wasn't working :)
