Excellent hospitality and service . Very good dining experience . Manager was very nice and very helpful .
Everything in the hotel was good
The noise from the hotel over the went to 4am on a Thursday...Generally it was noisy location...The washing machines and dryer were faulty
Nothing. No one to help car along way to carry bags up two lots of stairs.Other people caught out with this problem too.Wanted to take $95 off me if I cannelled which was the cost of the night.I needed a operation and couldn't t carry anything heavy and my sister a lot older to carry our bags.Had to get other men to help. Wouldn t stay again.
This is not a good place. No way to get out of booking as this is a high set hotel. We couldn't carry our bags up and staff offered but to busy to help.i needed a op and my sister a older person had a problem to get up all the stairs .No refund had the pay as they had my b/card nos .I Wouldn t go there again.
Improved facilities, pleasant dining
Very friendly and capable staff who are keen to promote the attractions in the area so have a good knowledge of them. History of the hotel is fascinating too as it's the first place that waltzing Matilda was ever sung in 1895 after Banjo Paterson came back from Combo Waterhole
I loved the old character of the building. The foyer was well-appointed and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable, with shared-verandah access.
My room was missing a couple of things compared to my mum's room next door- a shelf above the bathroom basin, a full-length mirror on the door. The ceiling fan speed was erratic. The bath/shower basin in my room was not clean. Also, lamps on the night stands would be a nice touch as a dim lighting option.
The hospitality, Staff friendliness, and how everything was simple and easy. No hassles whatsoever.
Cannot think of anything.
Sitting out on the balcony watching the world go by. Ambiance of the place was good.
Gentlemen in hat needs to be friendlier. Needs to have power points beside bed for medical appliances.
The staff were brilliant the restaurant meal was beautiful. Loved the retro refit if the rooms loved the facilities available on site
Staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Good location central to town. We stayed here overnight on our way through driving from Canberra to Sydney, this was my favorite hotel from the entire trip. Thanks guys!
Dinner in the restaurant was very slow to come out and not the best meal. Although in fairness this may have been because we were grumpy and tired from the 14 hour drive. I'll leave it up to you to judge :)
Shower was great. staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel had character. The staff were helpful and friendly. The evening meal was We were relieved to find there was tasty and reasonably priced. parking at the rear of the hotel.
Being picked up and dropped back at the airfield by the boss. Friendly, efficient and personable staff. Great cold beers. Great but affordable meals.
Having to leave after only 2 nights.
Good food in restaurant & breakfast café. Second room was quiet & well appointed. Some interesting history with LBJ etc
First room faced main street & patrons of hotel opposite were very noisy until about 1:00am. Difficult to deal with, but perhaps some better noise insulation in the front rooms would help.
The Hotel was great, clean, easy to get to. the staff at reception was most welcoming and informative. Definite Value For Money.
Friendly and helpful staff and a great location. Room a little dated but comfortable.
Meal prices were on a comparatively high side.
The "feel" of this art deco hotel with spacious foyer, bar, dining room and outdoor dining. Good pub food. A reminder of what good hotels were once like. The hotel is near the Waltzing Matilda Centre.
Having to carry our luggage up an elegant but long staircase to the accommodation level.
I love the atmosphere of the old time hotel. The food was great in the restaurant. Great pressure in the shower.
Not so easy climbing the stairs with the bags. Block out on the glass windows above the doors would be great especially when there is a light outside in the passageway. The room was lit up like it was daylight. We ended up finding the switch in the passage and turning the light off.
reasonable for the geographic situation
tired - needs updating
Free coffee offer for breakfast over $11. Pianist. Reception staff - good. Explained everything on arrival.
Menu - suggest to use more local meats than what was on the menu, e.g. Tasmanian, Victoria. Suggest staff be a little more friendly, e.g. At breakfast and more punctual, e.g. dinner - had to ask to place order. Outdoor bar area - weed gardens & a few more green plants might be useful to give a better feel to the space. Suggest an offer of a free glass of wine to people staying there may help numbers for dinner.
The chech in, the character of the building
Walking up the stairs (dicky knee)
The hotel was charming and was being renovated sympathetically. We had an older bathroom that was yet to updated, but it was very comfortable. The bar area was friendly and meals were cooked well.
The room could have benefitted from a curtain covering the window above the door, as this made the bedroom light all night. Probably will be resolved once the renovations are completed.
The poor location of our room at a price which should have been lower, or the room better located
The Friendly staff. Good food. very little sound of other guests. Being renovated.
