The Restaurant Food Was A+++ The rooms were nice and comfy. You have to pay to park your car in a public car park. And you get a late fee of $20 to park there AFTER 6:30PM. i figured parking was including in the price. I also figured the motel would of had its own car park. Thats my only Negative- |

It was centrally located and easy to reach all things in Melbourne. We liked the set up of the room though we didn't use the cooking facilities in the short time we were there. |

First afternoon there, man trying to get into the room because he was given the wrong room number - causing somewhat embarrasement on both sides. Went out for dinner with friends in the evening only to arrive back and find that key card would not work in the door - went down to reception and found that I had been listed as checked out. |

The staff were very helpful. A special thankyou to Farouk who cleaned our room and moved our cases when we relocated. The heating cooling sytem was less than efficient. The kitchen could have been better equipped. Missed a cutting board. Cupboards way too high to be of use. TV in strange location and couldn't be swivelled. |

The view from the room was the only thing I liked about our stay. We booked a room with a balcony and didn't get one, the split system was very noisy, the TV didn't work, we couldn't close the bathroom door. |

The front desk staff were very friendly. The buffet breakfast was delicious, and the location was ideal for people wanting to use Melbourne's public transport system. The bathroom was tiny. The plug was full of other people's hair and was disgusting. Funny smells coming from the vent in the room and the drains. Walls were quite thin, could hear people talking and doors slamming at all times. |

Location is good, the staff we dealt with were helpful, the room was large The bed was not good as it seemed to have a dip in the middle of it. The hot water was erratic and it was hard to get a good flow of water at a constant temperature. Could do with a bigger TV. |

The location When we arrived we were asked if we would like to purchase the reduced breakfast special for the duration of our stay, it was not until later that it dawned on us that our package included breakfast to which the staff on checking out did not care. Thye also showed a lack of concern when they were informed that the room booked over the net had a balconly where as Room 1608 clearly did not. |

The room was very airy, and, on the 19th floor, had a nice view. The suites we booked were actually largish studios rather than what one thinks of as suite – and they must be the worst designed and maintained suites anyone can imagine, run by perhaps well meaning, but quite ineffective people. First they gave us the wrong room altogether; then the “suite” we eventually got did not have heating (and even if the heating had worked the fan was so blocked with dirt no warm air could have escaped it…); the next one had a bathroom door that would neither open nor shut; in the one we finally had to settle for (because it had a heater that was working) only half a wardrobe door could be opened – the other half (with the drawers in) was blocked by a bedside table next to a bed that was blocked in with the ranch slider on the other side. Never mind that there weren’t any shower caps in the bathroom, the shower head was firmly fixed at such a height (probably about 7’+) that my 5’5’’ partner could not reach it. There was only one shelf (at eye height) in the shower space. The other over the basin (for toothbrushes, etc) had to be removed: it was set so low that the basin tap could not be opened with it in place. Height was a common theme all around: the kitchenette top cupboards were hung at around 6’, requiring a chair to get stuff out of the bottom shelf - top shelves were inaccessible altogether (unless you’d packed a ladder!) We would certainly never contemplate this place again, ever. |

Very friendly, helpful staff, close to tram and train stations, close to city yet far enough out not to be too noisy. Clean rooms. Lacks a bit of soundproofing through the doors - could hear a lot of activity in the hallways. |

I stay at the Oaks on Collins because I like the location - it is within 400m of our Melbourne offices I always book for the Oaks on-line, when I come to check in the check in person always says "please finll in your name and details" when the details are already on the form - it is that lack of attention to detail which always irritates me, and runs through the entire hotel, I had four knives, two forks and a spoon, no teaspoons in my room, room service brought me the wrong meal, the list is long |
