Unique decorations/antiques,lovely food-Lydia was pleased to cook an evening meal, position - able to walk into town and along the river, port and sherry in room.
Steep staircase may be difficult for those with mobility problems
Host Lydia is a marvel..Went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable in her quaint "inn". Room was nice and big and suprised to find a very modern ensuite. We had to leave early in am and Lydia insisted on greeting us in the morning making tea and toast in the unique restaurant. Loved it!
The ambience was wonderful. Sitting next to the log fire on a cold afternoon readin a book. What could be more relaxing. Great people run the establishment. Highly recommend.
As we were leaving at 6.30am,we asked for breakfast early,no problems, also the open fire had been lit and background music was playing . Complimentary sherry and port in your room with cut crystal glasses also a nice gesture.
Liked everything from the cleanliness of our room, the great breakfast, the friendliness of our host, Lydia, and her husband. The made us feel right at home.
Did not like anything except you people spell traveller with only one "L" (traveler), which is incorrect. Please change your spelling. Thank you.
It is a quirky place to stay. A sort of cross between a museum, curiosity shop and a B&B. Lydia was just a delight.
The history of bthe establishment embellished by the antiques. Warmth and friendliness of our host. Beautifully appointed room. High quality breakfast set in a lovely room environment
The hosts were lovely people, very friendly. The atmosphere and presentation of the room was excellent. The breakfast was filling and scrumptious. The whole property was filled with antiques and relics which suited the ambience of the property. Will be back again!
Our host went out of her way to be friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. We really did feel at home. We've just been traveling in Europe and still, Old Colony Inn was a cosy, cute cottage that impressed us. We would definitely stay there again!!
TV signals weak : no reception most of time. Needs radio in the suites: New Norfolk has no entertainment to offer.
The spur of the moment trip was made a memorable moment. The accomodation was quirky and interesting, with a mix of hospitality and charm. Will reccommend purely just to experience a gorgeous pink room with sherry and port on arrival.
Nice breakfast. Comfy bed. The landlady was lovely.
Too much clutter. We were frightened to move.
Very olde worlde and fabulous display of colonial times bric a brac. The owner was approachable and very helpful. The rooms were full of treasures - very trusting of the owner to have such fantastic memorabilia all out in the open.
Had to park on the street, but that wasn't really an issue.
Very welcoming, comfortable and quaint place to stay.
Lydia is a wonderful host who went out of her way to assist us. Beautiful place to stay.
The quaintness of staying in premises over 200 years old.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, good location, very interesting decor. It is like staying in a museum.
The eccentricity of the whole package I.e.the accommodation, garden Cat and the owner. It was such a change from the boring Hotel rooms that are the norm nowadays.
Personal homely service
Non availability of internet facility
The willingness to provide a tasty evening meal at short notice. The atmosphere of the antique objects that were present in the olde world inn. It should be noted that our bedroom was modern!
I loved staying and our room was just lovely and we were very comfortable . The Lady called Lidia and James were so friendly and we enjoyed there company . Thankyou Lidia for making us so welcome . I diffidently love to come back and see and stay with you again
There was nothing I can stay was wrong it was all good thankyou.
Very friendly host. Quiet location. Fascinating decor.
Old world building and furnishings, good firm bed and quiet location. Great ambiance. Lydia is a great hostess. 400 metres from the Bush Inn where they serve great food on a deck overlooking the river. Dinner not available at the Old Colony as Lydia is recovering from a fractured hip.
We loved this B&B The room was really comfortable, spotlessly clean and full of homely touches. Lydia was so welcoming and we loved chatting to her over our breakfast which was excellent. I also thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the antiques that were for sale in the great old building. The B&B was in a great location to walk into the town and also an easy walk in the other direction to the river.
