Typical money-making hotel: wireless for money, creditcard with fee, useless upgrade-selling etc. location is top but don't expect any more. Careful when offered upgrade: there are big cruise ships from 6am-7pm right in your 'view'..
Everything but the pillows
Excellent location. Waterfront view from room. Comfortable quiet room even overlooking road. Bathroom good. Breakfast plenty of choice and good seating. Welcoming staff
It was in the heart of the Rocks on Sydney's inner Harbor with a view of the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge. It was an easy walk to Government House and the Botanical Garden. Great restaurants in the vicinity and an authentic French patisserie.
Hotel is old
Choice of pillows- l could have left mine at home for once! The room and views- our room was on the top floor with windows on three sides!
Trying to find out where to park our car. No signs- as far as we could see. I had to leave my hubby in the car and run in to find out where to go. It is up a tiny side street just before the hotel, so as we had missed it, we had to drive around the block. We got there, and it was still not clear where to go, so had to go back into the hotel again. Advised to leave the car at the top of a ramp (the roller door at the bottom was closed) and somebody would come and park it for us. This would all have been quite difficult had we been solo travelers. Visible signs would be a BIG help!
Location second to none nice reception good overall value for money
Jacuzzi and pool needs greater cleaning Breakfast poor bad value got money
No other good meals. Stairs to pool not clean.
For the price we paid if was a great hotel, happy to recommend to others and look forward to staying there again.
Position view and roof top pool
CENTRAL LOCATION, FRIENDLY STAFF, COMFORTABLE ROOM & FRESH, BRIGHT BATHROOM
NOTHING COMES TO MIND - ALL GOOD!
The location was great! Close to Opera house and Central Quay
The decorating and detailing of the room was just not up to par for a hotel of that price.
Easy walk to the Opera House, Botanic Gardens, Circular Quay, and all the nearby pubs, shops and restaurants
wifi was a bit slow
Location location location. Best convenient spot if you are ship cruising
location was fantastic
air conditioning was very noisy that it kept me awake, we asked to be moved to a quieter room which the staff were very good about, it was a cooler room so I just turned the air con off because it was still too loud for me to sleep. Staff said the air con was due to be replaced.
ALL staff were amazing - so helpful and friendly. Loved the pillows - best ever. Location was terrific - everything at the doorstep.
Was surprised at the cost of WiFi - so much so that we didn't use it
Pleasant staff, lovely room, beautiful pool with great views for a hot day (35*)
noise of the air conditioner
Great location. Close to circular quay and transport.
room was very nice and staff were very friendly. location was fantastic to everything. safe location with lots to see
restaurant not open if you did not pay for breakfast package. also with sister coming in from international flight from canada, did not have room available until way after check-in time which was very inconvenient after travelling 18 hours on flight.
the shower in the bath
Free wifi with holiday inn membership location was great and very quiet access good as close to circular quay
Room service menu indicated wine and beer available 24 hours but on ordering we found it wasn't available after 11pm. Having travelled from Brisbane (where incidentally we don't have daylight saving) we were looking forward to a light meal and nightcap on our arrival. Very disappointed. Not even anything in fridge although we were required to leave a deposit on credit card for incidentals. This spoiled our first night a little and had a impact over our stay. The following morning our room was serviced. However, room service takeaway (rubbish) was left beside the bed. Pool area on top deck was disappointing. We paid extra for opera house view room which was nice but room was still very basic and furniture was scratched and marked which also took away from the experience.
The variety of choice on the breakfast menu.
Would have liked porridge, already made, on the breakfast menu.
Loved the location
