Not far from beach and eating places. Staff friendly and apartment clean. Own small outdoor pool to relax. Notice on back of door said high theft risk area-felt we had to bring everything in room from car. Also it seemed that a few apartments were permanently occupied by tradesmen.

Spacious Large numbers of young adults hanging around the car park until police turned up and dealt with whatever the issue was. Didn't feel too comfortable leaving car there when we went out

The Self Contained units were well set up and perfect for privacy and comfort. Great when you have children to accomodate for and plenty of space. The roudy group of guys who decided to have a loud party in the complex on the Friday night. No respect for other residence especially when congregated close to customers cars parked in complex.

I thought this place was value for money. The area was quiet at night, and there were pleasant green trees surronding the complex. We went with our daughter and son in law. We could see Castle Hill out the bedroom window. The bed was comfortable, and made up with crisp cotton sheets. There was a cotton blanket on the bed, under a quilted bedcover. I appreciated the choice of bedding, as we find doonas /duvets too hot to sleep under. The reading material consisted of a phone book, and a folder about local places. The office has paperbacks that you can borrow to read. The bathroom and kitchen were clean. One towel each, and a hand towel were provided. My husband enjoyed going down to the Strand for a run in the morning, by the sea. There are 2 convenience shops within about 300 metres, where you can buy milk and basic supplies. The BiLo/Coles supermarket is within 1 kilometre, and has a wide range of grocreries , fruit and veges. . I was surprised that we had to go and buy toilet paper, dishwash, chux cloths etc, as only initial supplies are provided. I am used to Kiwi motels, which often have more furniture and equipment. ( I was given another teatowel to use when I asked.) Buying these items added to the cost of our stay There is a full kitchen, but only basic implements for cooking, ie one microwave cooking pot. (There were saucepans and a frying pan.) We neded some salt for cooking. I asked the lady in Kuranda stores, if she could sell me some takeaway sachets. I didn't want to buy a $2.80 container, to get a teaspoon of salt. The dryer cost $3 to use. We bought washing powder for $1.50 a load from the Palm Waters office . The open stairs were ok for us, but would be unsuitable for young children, or people with reduced mobility.

Location to Strand and the CBD. Quiet. Dirty and odorous lounge suite; spitball on the framed print in the lounge. Two cups in the cupboard had coffee/tea stains. Bath towels have seen one too many washes; no dish washing liquid but a dish cloth and tea towel was provided. Very basic, less than three star in my view. A pity.

The apartment layout with own laundry facility and location was fabulous. Only a double bed in the main room and the lounge chairs are really uncomfortable.
