The hotel was close to the beach and CBD. The room/s were basic but clean and, in addition to TV/ Tea & coffee facilities/ bar fridge, the inclusion of an electric hotplate, microwave, and crockery/cutlery was great! The man and woman at reception were great (very friendly) when booking in/ out and with giving information about local directions and tour information.

Location and valve for money

we stayed at the motel as we were about to start a tour and the motel was there pick up point so it was very convinent for us to stay there,it is in a good location with the hotel across the road and within walking distance to resturants and casino

The room was clean and tidy and although modest good value for money. and Although I didn't get an opportunity to use it, the pool area looked very nice. It is located on the fringe of Darwin's CBD, so I had the convenience of being close to everything without any of the noise problem suffered by venues in the city centre.

No ironing board was provided in the room, so I had to use a shared laundry to iron my shirts, but the concrete floor was rather dirty and my sleeves got dirty when they touched the floor.

The owner / manager of Palms was the most helpful and nice person I have ever met in any of my travels. Nothing was too much trouble for him, we were unable to get out by 10am as the car rental took ages. We rang him and he was fine with the late exit. He even gave us caps and beer holders. I will definitely stay there again if up that way. It may not be the most luxurious hotel in the world but the friendliness and service outdoes all of the others I have stayed in. Thanks

The very friendly staff and owners who helped when ever there was a request from us -will go back for sure each time I am in Darwin!

The owners and their staff were very friendly , extremely helpful and the location is so close to all the great things Darwin has to offer.

The rear car parking and taxi depot can get a little noise especially around 5.a.m.

We arrived late and realised we had made a bad mistake booking this motel. The room was very small and dirty and considering it was the most expensive room we had booked throughout Australia we were shocked with the its condition. We hardly slept that night and got up very early the next morning and found another location to stay and booked out straight away.

Everything, dirty, expensive and very small

Good value, comfortable hotel - good beds, mostly quiet rooms, useful kitchen facilities in the rooms, friendly and helpful staff, walking distance to city and handy location with a pub, taxis and parkland close by. Much the same price as a backpackers lodge but much more comfortable, private and quiet.

A little bit of traffic noise in the front rooms. Hair drier in the bathroom would be nice,but not having one won't stop me coming back.

The check-in service I received when I arrived was welcoming and efficient and set the scene for an enjoyable stay. The owner was accommodating and very helpful in assisting to resolve a problem I had with my prior booked tours. I was pleasantly surprised at the extent of the facilities and size of the room as the accommodation consisted of much more than what I had imagined. I thought I was booking a single budget room at a budget Motel. What I received was a suite with three beds (1 double and 2 singles) complete with kitchen, lounge and balcony. There was very little noise after 10:00 pm.

The Motel was not on The Ghan Gold card passengers drop-off list of Darwin accommodation which was disappointing and an inconvenience when arriving in an unfamiliar city. The Motel is located a short distance away from the main cbd which means there is a reasoable walk or a taxi fare to get into the main city hub.

A short overnight stop but very comfortable.

Address was a bit hard to find.

Convenient for single night after airport. Near to Mindil beach. No frills motel, with ok pool.

Steps up to rooms - no ramp. Limited parking.

We found the motel a very central place with easy access to all of Darwins facilities retalively inexpensive for what was supplied

The only downside was no meals supplied if required but there were plenty of resturants available within walking distance

The staff are what really make the Palms Motel. They just cannot do enough for you. Very friendly people and accommodating. The motel is old but very clean, rooms are serviced daily, pool is immaculate and great location with the convenience of a hotel across the road. I only stayed there because of availability in Darwin at the time but if would definitely stay there again.

The only improvement that I could see with the Palms would be wi fi.

Todo se puede mejorar, pero la verdad es que me ha encantado y por su precio está muy bien. Se puede que es casi perfecto, las instalaciones son muy buenas, si vuelvo a Darwin iré a este hotel sin duda.

The room was too light at night. Perhaps some roller blinds over kitchen window and main door would help.
